Glastonbury

Thought The Stones blew all the young whippersnappers off the stage(s).

They disappointed me, but surprisingly example were excellent. I hope mumford show them how It's done tomorrow

I cannot understand why this is getting so much coverage by the BBC. It is on Radio 1, 2 and various other BBC stations plus BBC TV.

Certainly confuses me that the BBC needs to cut spending yet can send loads of it's TV and radio staff on a jolly to Glastonbury. Does all BBC radio really need to be presented live from the festival.

Never amongst my favourite bands even back in the 1960's. ok last night but didnt sound as good on tv as they probably did in the flesh

The Stones were awful, especially Jagger, something very undignified in watching 70 year old men trying to behave like teenagers.
Charlie Watts and Ronnie Woods looked shamefaced.

This 100% they were terrible, like a bunch of pervy drunken grandads at a wedding. The crowd looked as bored as buggery.
Arctic Monkeys blew them away on Friday IMO.
Not fussed about Mumford and Sons, their brand of folk/pop does nothing for me.

Someone cleverer than me described them as the worlds best Stones tribute act. I think that about sums it up. Keef looked as if he was being operated remotely by someone via electrodes stuck on various bits of him.

Hard to tell from the telly tho, would need someone who was there to report in on them. I suspect not too many GMers made it...

Can't fault their back catalogue but The Stones ain't for a festival like Glastonbury any more, they were there for nostalgia more than anything.

Mumford and Sons ain't everyone's cup of tea but they can and will put on a show.

Having had the good fortune to see The Stones at their very best... Their appearances nowadays just serve as a reminder as to the good days of seeing/hearing them... Brings the memories flooding back...

Only been to one Glastonbury... !986?... The Cure for my much younger brother and Level42 for herself... Tickets were change out of twenty quid... Told the tickets were £200 this year...

MARK RADCLIFFE said the same when it cut back to him before they hand to have their sanatogen boost so as to carry on and do the encore !!!!!!!!!!!!,the face of his co-presenter was a picture even when he said he was jokeing " only partly",it was a bit like the kings new clothes, everyone wanted them to be great and as a novelty they were, but not a patch on the band that paved the way and ruled the world 40years ago,I have noticed the old hippy bloke who runs it stated they were the best band ever to appear and nothing could top it,clutching at straws,or just trying to convince everyone,I also noticed the crowd and they have changed from my festival days, rich kids in designer gear and posh cameras and I-pads with not a hair out of place,or pretty young things that didn't have a clue what the words were to even the most iconic songs but proudly wearing a freshly ironed stones t-shirt.
