Gig tickets - been let down, not sure what to do

Hi all

My social life isn't normally packed full, but on the weekend of 23rd of June I'm supposed to have 2 days of golf down at Princes in Sandwich with a night in the hotel etc

Unfortunately I'd bought 3 tickets for the Foo Fighters gig on the Saturday night at the Olympic stadium in London. I'd sorted out that I'd play 9 holes with the group and then disappear to London for the gig and come back that night ready for the next days golf.

Over the weekend the other 2 guys going with me to the gig have pulled out.....so I'm now stuck with 3 tickets that were already awkward for me.

So I can now either find a couple of other people that want to go or sell all the tickets and concentrate on the golf weekend.

What would you do?

Seriously though, I saw the Foos at MK Bowl a few years ago (first time seeing them live) and they were absolutely fantastic.
If you haven't seen them before and are happy to cut your round short, then keep 1 for yourself and sell the other 2 on one of the reputable ticket resale sites.

I saw them at MK too, just after he'd broken his leg and cancelled the Wembley gig. Absolutely incredible band, hence the confusion over what to do!

Without Nirvana, the Foo Fighters wouldn’t have had so much as a demo tape get air time with a major player in the industry. A shame Grohl went this route because his drumming for Nirvana was incendiary - the way he hits the skins on songs like Aneurysm was breath-taking but he taints it all with his cookie-cutter frontman antics now.

That's your opinion, but I think you're in the minority. I think Grohl is an excellent song-writer, and to still be churning out hits after 20 years is impressive. Many a band would have petered out by then. They've had enough great songs over their career that their lives shows are worth seeing.

I don't understand your comment that it's a shame - should he have known his place and drummed for some underground band? I doubt he regrets any decision he's made at this point.

Sounds like a good idea, except there is no point, as i will be too spannered to remember what I listened too, or what I drank.

Personally I'd be selling all the tickets and playing golf and enjoying the course and hotel. If you can get your money back on a reputable resale sight then you're not out of pocket and free to have some great golf, a few beers and a laugh in Kent

Loved the Foo Fighters first time I saw them. Second time was just OK but that was Dave with a broken leg so the show seemed more choreographed and a bit by the numbers. Nearly bought tickets for this tour but decided to wait for something different ti come up. Now heading for Passenger in Brighton

Obviously entitled to your opinion, but I'll trust Jiimy Paige and john Paul Jones opinion of his and his bands talents over yours...

I agree with Kellfire to a degree, fans of Nirvana were easy picking when Kurt died and he definitely got hold of the coat tails and ran with it.
They’ve done a couple of good songs (IMO 😉) but the rest is just generic rubbish. I don’t really rate Taylor Hawkins as a great rock drummer either, he has a particular style which is too “poppy” for a rock band, some songs on the last album proved that to me 100%.
Saying that, the missus loves them and I’ve seen them live twice and they were very good, but I would never buy an album.

Going of track a bit , I’ve got tickets to see the Stones in Edingburgh what did you think of them.

Re the other question I’d go to the gig can play golf anytime.
