I agree with HTL on his thread. If you click on Benny on the left hand side of a thread it takes you into their profile page and there is a link at the bottom to click - ignore this use

Once you have done this any posts made by benny will not show in the threads. You will just see a message when he posts saying you are ignoring this user

I urge all respectable forum members to get clicking and that way his putrid childlike scribblings will not get the audience he craves

Done.

The tone and language are simply not acceptable on a forum where a wide cross section of people come to discuss golf.

I'm taking less of an interest in the forum since a recent crop of belligerant simpletons seem to have turned up and ive flagged the moderators on a couple of occasions regarding the content of their contributions.

I'm sure one of the aforementioned will wish to have their say (it's a public forum after all)which is fine as I couldn't give two toots and i'll simply block them off too.

Hoping for a return to a bit of civilized banter about golf.

Done also,
my nephew is browsing (who is a golf fan and just got his first set, he's only 12 but he's poorly so I'm looking after him today)) and low and behold what did he see (Golfing/Sporting superstitions), He has now asked me what does this mean  :D

Done - and agree with Minty in that it will be good to get some serious, and fun, discussions going again.

And it works. Just looked at the latest newbie post to which he has replied and all it shows is 'You are igniring this user'. Brilliant. Can you do this for your own posts? :D

Have any of his 169 posts been of any interest? Being Ex Forces and an Engineer, I like a good swear as much as the next man but it has a time and a place...and this Forum just isn't it. Hopefully he will now consider buggering off.

I too have now ignored Benny and longtolong or whatever his name is. I come on here to talk about golf with other civilised members of the forum and do not wish to be engulfed into these sort of peoples idiocies and obscenities. If I wished for this I would go and talk to some of the members of my football team. As it happens thoguh I do not, and I am therfore greatful that this ignore feature has been brought to my attention as it allows me to get rid of these inarticulate fools who feel the need to post using the vocabulary of a larger lout.
