Getting my first handicap

So this year I am determined to get my first handicap (be interesting to see if the 18-20 that I give myself is accurate!) and I don't know many people at my club. Is there a requirement that different people need to mark your first 3 cards for your handicap, or can I get my neighbour to mark all 3??

Usually there is no requirement for different people to mark your cards and your neighbour should be able to do all three.

However...the specific requirements will be dictated by your club...so best check with them.

I’ve been a member of 2 different golf clubs and never had individual people sign my new handicap cards .

If you're not playing in club tournaments, then some pros are happy to enter your scores without someone playing with you and verifying them.
