Getting A New Putter - Is It All About Feel?

Phil Mickelson was using a putter with a different loft for the different grass in Asia and Nick Faldo has said that we need more loft on putters in UK than US - so are the putters we're offered right for the UK or are they a standard built for the larger US market?

If Santa is bringing you a nice new toy why not treat yourself to the other one! That way you have both and can chop and change.

I swopped my Spider with HTL for his Odessey Putter and love it.

Thought there was too much going on with the Spider and feel much more comfortable with the smaller mallet on it.

But as HTL said earlier on he loves it so I guess it is all about how a putter feels for you.

Santa Claus has agreed to put a new putter in his sack for me so I have been at my local AG having a play.

I've narrowed it down to two based on looks, weight, feel.

Is there anything else I should be considering when making my decision?

I've used them on the putting green in store but I am convinced there putting survace is angled to the hole. I've holed more long putts in store than I have in my life on the course.

The two in consideration are the Rossa Spider and the Rossa Daytone

I would suggest you get the pro to take a look at your natural putting stroke and see if you're a 'straight back and through' or an 'in/out' sort of a putter. I was advised that if it you're the former it's got to be a mallet/face balanced putter and the latter needs a heel/toe weighted putter accordingly.

The test to see if a putter is face balanced is straight forward and can be performed by you in a moment.

I ended up with a Ping Redwood Piper S and love it to bits. Can't honestly ever see myself replacing it.

Make sure you get CF'd.

I have the Spider in my bag........although it looks as ugly as sin, I found the ballance perfect for me, and I'm sinking alot more 10 to 12 footers.
