With a seller on e-bay... Have bid on several of his items only for him to withdraw item before the auction ends... If it was an individual I'd [maybe] be a little less miffed but its a business seller... 7313phil anyone else had problems?

Report it to eBay and give item numbers, if it's regular eBay will bounce he's account

I've had that a few times, even one today, was watching a Titleist bag that was at £46 for the last 2 days, only a day to go then all of a sudden its ended..............I didnt think you could end an auction when people had already bid on it..........pretty poor show especially by a business though

Ive had that problem a couple of times recently with guys pulling the item an hour or two before the end, I think in my case though they were shop owners/staff and had maybe sold the items themselves instore, still annoys the life out of me. You either are auctioning it or you arent.
A while back, I flogged a genuine Grafalloy red FW shaft for a fiver, thats what it ended on and thats what I let it go for. If I wanted more then I could have put a reserve on it but to be honest, I just wanted to clear out old gear. Some people need to learn to play the game fairly.

You can because I had to do just that recently. I made a mistake and thought that I had a buy it now price set but I didnt. I had to cancel all the bids before ending the auction. Ebay allowed it but I guess they wont let you do it too many times. The scam here of course is that some use Ebay to find a buyer then do the transaction privately - avoiding fees.

OP, what you may find is that the seller agreed to sell it at an agreed price with someone (not necessarily privately) Seller would then cancel all bids, stop the auction, relist the item but this time at the agreed buy it now price, advise the interested party so that they could quickly buy it and settle up in the normal way. This is the legal way to do it because Ebay still get their commission.

Interestingly enough, if you happen to see the re-listed item first you can buy it instead of the person who it was intended for and the seller would be obliged to sell it to you.
