Gatwick Airport parking.

What I have done is booked a spot on someone’s drive through ParkonmyDrive. There’s a couple of reasons as normally I go through meet and greet or park and ride.
Meet and greet at Manchester. I was waiting 30 minutes for someone to come. When we returned 35 minutes.
Again park and ride, Manchester, car parked under a tree and 2 weeks of goose crap on the car.
I will keep folk informed of how it turns out.
Oh sorry it was £80 for 15 days, 5 mins from airport.
Would be intrigued to know where the property is - as there's nowhere especially close. (5 mins by car might just be possible) How are you getting from your parked car to the terminal?

So, interested to know how it works out when you've done it. When you've added in the waiting for taxis, plus the cost of them, not convinced it will more convenient (or much cheaper) than the on-site valet parking. We used that in November and was not much over £100 for three weeks.

(Ps: I now know where you're leaving your car, plus when you're away. Probably easiest if you just send me the keys directly ...:) )

I think the problem is that the £100 you paid in November is not the price anymore. Hotel stay and park are now 2-3 times the price they were only last month when I went to Heathrow. Hearing reports of airport parking increasing by similar amounts

???

My missus has just advised that our parking was £133 in November. Have just looked online and can book 3 weeks valet parking at Gatwick North, starting 6 July, for £135 (which, surprisingly, is just a bit more than half the £240 it would cost to go in the Long Stay North for the same period)

I think we paid a tad over £100 for 2 weeks in Gatwick North long stay. You got the constantly running bus to the terminal once you had parked.
Prefer knowing where it’s parked

I just had a quick look at the site I use for hotel and airport parking. There is normally a whole page of Gatwick options starting at under £100.00. Today, for next weekend, there is one option at a slightly mor distant Premier Inn and they want nearly £400.00. Looked at the Raddisson hotel I used for Heathrow last month. Cost me £145.00 I think, now costs £295.00. Are we even in the school holidays yet?

We always use the valet parking. It was £110ish for 16 days. This year when Mrs Piece booked a few weeks ago it £263!. Reading this thread caused me to go back a check prices...it's now £190! And I've just found a 20% discount code (PM if you want to know), so it's even cheaper. :D

Just a quick update, had a look at a couple of the taxi companies that were recommended. The reviews were rubbish. By the time taxi costs were added. Which were not what was suggested. Well let’s just say Missis T has had another look around. Price now for the 15 days is £111.00 for park and ride. It has reduced massivel. It’s a no brainer to go with them.

Thanks for the heads up, I looked a month or so ago as we’re off to Croatia in August and the cost was around £200 for a weeks stay. Will have another look today to see if we can get a better price.
