Afternoon all,

I'm toying with the idea of doing something in the next forum spread of the magazine on the funniest / best / most thought-provoking threads of 2011.

Anyone got any stand-out threads that linger on in the memory, and if so, even a vague recollection of roughly when they were started and by whom?

Will see how this goes, and if I get a decent shortlist. I'll perhaps run a quick poll on here.

Cheers

Any on length, length or carry length, an enduring source of amusment/anger/pride to all club golfers. Boys will be boys

The thread about the fella losing an eye was quite interesting and the thread Tiger (I think) started summoning Homer to the dock was one of the funniest OPs I can remember. Both were in the last month.

Dare I mention TimGolfy...

I thought the recent one on the case of the guy who was hit by a golf ball was very thought provoking.

There have been some good ones on the usual topics of DMD's, c/f, slow play and Tiger but hard to pinpoint the exact ones (they tend to merge in the memory) and the original Timgolfy thread has to get a mention.

I also think the threads paying tribute to Seve from all the ordinary golfers on here for whom he was such an inspiration are also worth a mention.

Justagolfer anyone?

Coc......sorry,in line with the recent post I won't swear.
Has to be called rooster now dodge that word you nearly said is banished for good..

I realy enjoyed EZprophets piece of 6 holes with rory . think its current actualy ..
As the guys said the one re the court case got alot of people talking & thinking aswell ..

Aw shucks thanks fella :o

I have to agree with Timgolfy (take your pick there were so many), the court case, the riots debate was an interesting OOB one and I loved the one a month or so ago when AmandaJR joined the forum. One of the most read and responded to first posts ever!!!!! :D

I though the whole Timgolf saga from his opening rant, constant taunts about how far he hit it and the fact he apparently (in Timgolf world anyway) would be ranked about 7th in the world for driving set a new bench mark. I am still not sure if I admired his sheer blinkered belief that trying to boom it into the next decade alone would get him to single figures or if it was really just some bizarre wind up. Of course it came to an inevitable conclusion when he went to a fourm meet, and fair play to him for doing so, and proceeded to top the first drive.

Heard loads about Timgolfy, so trawled the archive posts when I joined to find out what all the furore was about.

Someone posted a video of TimGolfy driving at a golf meet. within a few mins of the video posted, someone suggested that he should be called "Chingolfy" instead. Pure Genius! One of the moments when you laugh out loud and the wife looks at you like your a nutter.

The post when TimGolfy proclaimed himself as the 4th longest hitter on tour was one the greatest things I have read on this or any other forum. It was so simple and elegant the way he put it across and made his calculations it was AMAZING!

I liked the guy from France who was best mates with the Goose and had about 5 sets of Muira irons.
He was soooooooooo important...................in his world.
