New Johnnydee thread alert - presenting 1 of 60😄 (see the other thread about my thread starting compulsion) just joshing btw!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We have a group of about 20 that on non-comp weekends like to play a competitive but friendly 4-ball game of some kind.

We play variations of Stableford scoring formats. Best 2 to count. Best 2 and all 4 on the par 3s. The Waltz, Dubai, Bonus orange ball and some others too.

But does anyone know of another good format we could use from time to time.

Try 6-6-6.

Played in pairs.

First 6 holes - 4 ball betterball

Next 6 holes - Add both stableford scores together

Last 6 holes - Multiply both stableford scores together.

Here's a vicious one - Team Bogey.

All players play off full handicap using bogey scoring. The 4 individual scores on each hole are put together to make a team score for each hole i.e. 2 plusses and 2 minuses gives a team score of a half for the hole, 1 plus, 1 half and 2 minuses give a score of minus for that hole. The beauty is that one player could be +18 for the round but his team could be -18.
