freinds and family ??

hey guys i am back have not been around much.

i have still not done a bit of Golf yet not even for a lesson now i dont know if i am really shy but i dont feel like going to a golf club and playing abit on my own i like to tend to be round people i know so i have asked the wife and the guess is no. i really dont have alot of freinds and the freinds i do have think the golf is boring or they just dont want to do anything with me i am stuck in a ruck what do you think i should do ??

not much point asking anybody here we have no friends either thats why we are on here & we ask strangers for advice & tell strangers of our good rounds etc ..

Best thing to do is to find a local club that does group beginners lessons, they will be cheaper than individual and you may meet some people along the way who are also looking for a golf buddy.

Why not go and play in The scramble where you will be with 3 people for 18 holes and have good banter. Play in the Comps and you will get to know people.

It is the same wherever you are just go for it.

Dont be afraid everyone starts somewhere,if you dont try and get involved now,you may never get involved.Go out early,or go out late your bound to find someone playing alone,they may even ask you.

I joined my first golf club without knowing anyone who played. Was made to feel very welcome. Went to a golf club social event on the evening I joined and within an hour I had half a dozen offers for a round.

Join a place and get stuck in. Golfers are an accommodating bunch.

How did you meet your wife? How about your friends?

If you go back far enough, at some point you had to start a conversation with someone that wasn't already a friend, in order to get to know them.

That's all you need to do here.

Group lessons, or evening classes will give you a starting point if that's what you fancy, but personally I'd pop into all the local courses and just ask the pro about taking the game up.

You'll get on better with some of them than with others, that's human nature. And one of them might well inspire you enough to have a few lessons abd take the game up. Once you've done that, he'll be able to set you up in a few games.

And then you'll just have to come along to a forum meet.

And then life will never be the same.
