Four hundred and seventy six bloody quid!!!!!!!!!!......................

I'm really glad for pet insurance, however, this thread has made me a bit :(

I wish all the best for Colin :)

I'd hate anything to happen to my Ava...

And as a tiny...

The whole vet thing as a business I always struggle with. Wanted to be a vet as a kid but didn't want to work hard at school so that ambition died a death. It just seems to be a bit of a conundrum between loving/caring for animals and wanting to heal the sick ones and making a pot full of money. I think some go too far down the making money line and have seen some with our pets who don't see to give a damn but want to rack up the treatments and bill. Others will advise on OTC remedies for ailments rather than pay their extortionate prices and they're the keepers until the practice susses they're bad for business and they leave!

Hope Colin gets well soon and no doubt at home with Sam doting on him he'll soon be back on form.

I have 1 and 3/4 cats. The whole one is Buffy who I raised from a kitten. The one with the missing leg is 'lard'. His real name is Barney but when I first met him (he is my wife's cat) he was the fattest cat you have ever seen. It was a couple of weeks before I realised that he was not a cushion. He has been called Lard ever since.

One of ours got run over a few years back.
The Vet wired her leg up to try to get it to heal. Had to keep her in a cage for 6 weeks until they took the scaffolding off and decided that the leg had to go. Cost best part of a grand...
Tripod - for that is what she became known as - hopped around for a couple of years until she went missing.
Turns out she shacked up with some old Girl across the estate....
By the time we'd found out the Old Girl had moved to the Coast.

So we forked out for all that and the ungrateful sod left home!

Other Mog has a dodgy ticker, high blood pressure, dodgy thyroid, she's deaf and blind....

Not much of a Mog really....

What do you expect???

If you kept me in a cage for six weeks then chopped my bleedin leg off, I'd bolt at the first opportunity as well!!!

;)

The Doc showing his caring side I see....knob.

I have had my wee Russian Blue,Macy, for 8 years now and have had per insurance all that time and she has never been in need of the insurance! New set of hooks twice over if I hadn't bothered!;)

Love cats,beautiful animals.

We had a dog, Josh and two cats, Sophie and Sarah. Sarah was the boss, Sophie was never sure if she was cat or dog
As kids we had a lot of cats, serially, definitely a Felix (viscious b*), at least one Blackie, a N* (it wasn't an issue back then), can't remember the others but we weren't sentimental about them, they were there for the rats.

5 dogs 2 cats. The cats think they are dogs. They sit with the dogs when the treats come out. Lie down on command. Plus walk to heel with the dogs when out for a walk. Does look funny 5 dogs and 2 cats walking to heel.
