Foul Language

You posted this just after my deleted post in OOB Brendy, I was half/fully canned that night and got a bit annoyed. If it was that bad then sorry, cant quite remember the full post :o

Dont think I had anything to do with that Canny? unless ive forgotten already!
Wasnt aimed at anyone in particular just posted this up as ive had a couple of members mention to me that it was becoming very noticeable.

Well said. The thing that puts me off most forums is that an opinion is normally met with abuse and I can't be bothered with it. It's good to be able to come here and discuss golf, have the odd disagreement but not see threads descend into bad language and abuse.

Now fcuk off the lot of you :D

Thank you for that Captain Hook :p

Played in a "friendly" needle match today with some guys I've played with a few odd times in the past.

One of them must have been in the building game, the navy, a car dealer, or similar. His language on the course and in the clubhouse (spoken a little quieter I must admit) was more than a little ripe. He was being a total knob .

Nearly put me off my game

Still, I did get 6 more Stapleford points than him and he treated me to a nice sausage and bacon baguette so he almost redeemed himself :D

I quite often play in the Wednesday roll-up with a guy hailing from near Ullapool - he swears like a trooper, but none of it ever sounds all that offensive. In that part of the world (and parts of Ireland I'm sure), swearing is just second nature, and is used regularly in everyday conversation.

I think a few people are taken slightly aback when they first play with him, but they soon learn to take it in their stride. In all honesty, nobody can take him seriously or feel offended even when he's shouted the C word at the top of his voice - 1, because he never means it towards anyone else, and 2, because he's a genuinely nice guy. He just has a bit of a restricted vocabulary, which is a bit worrying considering he's a consultant surgeon!

In total agreement that this is the best forum I've ever used in terms of friendliness, lack of name calling and absence of swearing.

Please enlighten me to the Ullapool and Ireland connection, this from a man from Cornwall.
