He sold hot hatches. RS 2000, Mexico’s, the lot. They were gorgeous. Nearly bought a mexico but he wanted £2,000 and the midget was cheaper.
Wonder what they're going for.
I wish I still had my original xr3. one of the non fuel injected versions. Bought it when I came back from the Falklands in1982. Sold it after a couple of years when I went on another ship.
? coat hanger always did the trick. For £45K, I'd have wanted a more stylish aerial on the back .
?Mint Mexicos go for around 60k.
For God's sake why?Mint Mexicos go for around 60k.
My brother who has been a mechanic all his life is now making a very good living buying, selling and restoring 70's and 80's classic cars, Fords in particular.
I haven't visited for some time due to C19 but normally when I visit him it's hard not to try and pinch something as his garage is at the back of his house.

I was 19 and had been at sea for almost 5 months without stepping on dry land. When I got home the money I had saved was burning a hole in my pocket.was it a military thing to buy hot hatches. Bro in law was stationed in Germany and the mk 1 Golf GTI came out.He bought one. Came out of the pub one night with a girl and half a dozen lads were stood around the car. He thought it was gonna kick off. All they were interested in was the car. Don’t know how many times he has told me how he and his pals used to race down the autobahn coming home. Emptying Jerry cans of cheap fuel Into the tank and dumping the cans in farmers fields.
