i put a post on last night regarding selling my R9 woods and rescue club,i checked later on and it wasnt there so i reposted it and now upon checking it again its obviously been removed, could anybody please shed some light on this for me,if i have done something wrong in the way that i've posted the items to warrant it being removed then fair enough(personally i don't think i have) any info appreciated, thanks

i've read the rules etc, they are more than fair enough. i have 40 posts on and have been on here numerous hours for the last fortnight,it would be easier to part ex them than spend wasted time on here just so that i can sell them! i'm on here to have fun, meet people to play golf with, get and give advice and every now and again buy and sell some golf gear, lol. i'll just have to bide my time then.

It's happened to a friend of mine who registered and his 2nd post was to sell come clubs. Personally I think it's wrong to remove them, BUT (this is a big but), this could be a very easy avenue for some people to off load fake/stolen gear with no comeback for the buyer. I think the moderators have to get to know you and make sure nothing out of order will be happening. Looking at it this way I can see why it's done but maybe an email explaining why it happened would be in order.

i agree,i coud have been informed, not too bothered as rules are rules but i was hoping if anybody was interested in them and i got a good price the money would go towards my new titleists which i'm hoping to have within the next week.

leewestrudd1, I removed a couple of your adverts because they are not in line with the guidelines mentioned in the rules post set up by the magazine Editor Mike Harris.

On a personal note I would ask you if you would send money to someone nobody knows or has had any comms with? I for one would not and that is why we try to get people involved in the forum and once thay have established themselves then others will be more confident and reassured when buying from them.

I look forward to reading your comments and hope this does not put you off contributing to the forum.

Andy

thats fine,i'm glad somebody cleared that up for me,i've no problem with that at all,i was a bit puzzled as to why they dissapeared.50/50 i suppose about sending money to someone you dont know, its not ideal i admit but we all do it on ebay etc but i suppose we have the backup of paypal and credit card insurance, and no you havent put me off using the forum I LOVE IT! it beats sat talking to my miserable other half, lol

I apologise for not contacting you but there is a tendancy for first time posters/sellers to flea and never return. I am glad you are sticking around as it is the only place to discuss all things golf and gossip.

leewestrudd1,
I think it was my fault. Someone had posted a spam link to a fake chinese club website in a response to the R9 thread. They had only posted 4 times and all of them had the same dodgy link.
I reported it late last night with the intention of getting just the spam link removed. It looks like the whole thread was removed instead. Sorry mate....if I was looking for an R9, I'd buy one off you... :D :D

Lee, we have been inundated by spammers and perhaps we will need to communicate a little more when editing or deleting a post or thread. I noticed you had made a few posts but the key point is your quite new to the forum (10 days) and we need to think of the possible risk to members.

Cheers pal.

THANKS and THANKS again! lol. dont worry i'll just end up part exing them, thing is where i get my gear from the pro has that many 2nd hand clubs that he's trying to move on the prices he's give me are abit tight considering the amount of money ive spent in there,i was hoping to get more money in selling them privately.

Have you tried www.adtrader.co.uk as it targets you local area. Its free and I have bought and sold quite a bit there.

Now that he has proved that he's not a "spam bot" and shows keeness to stay on the forum, can he not re-post his advert? There may be somebody interested in what he has for sale.
Seems like a reasonable guy to me, didn't get all huffy 'cos his ad had been removed.
;)

I honestly wouldn,t bother mate because unless you are prepared to give your stuff away when you post your gear on the forum all you will get is a load of sarcastic remarks, and daft comments, it's easier to put them on ebay. Just have a look in some of the posts and see for yourself.

Does that happen on here then?

No we haven't :D It's rare to see more than 1 person every few days trying to sell something and that's even those who have been here long enough to do so!!

Eh? Everything I buy is generally from someone I don't know :D :D That's just a stupid excuse for heavy handed moderating.
