What an incredibly stupid & irritating way to introduce players. We don't need to be reminded to applaud them. We're pretty sure they're there to drive. What we might want to know is where they come from & what titles they hold. Whose idea was that? It gets on my proverbials.

“Now driving” They are about to hit a drive.
“Players name” Announces who’s hitting.

It sounds a bit strange, and is probably how they did it back in the day, but we should be used to it by now.

This would certainly qualify as a "random irritation", certainly not an issue with the majority. Much simpler than announcing everyone's records.
