I have posted on another thread on how I came to own these shoes so I will not go on here about the excellent Customer Service offered by Footjoy. This review is purely about the shoes.
The Dryjoy Tours are a perfect example of FJ doing what they do best, producing top quality, classic looking golf shoes. I have several pairs of more modern looking shoes so these make a pleasant change. They look like a golf shoe, no attempt to be a trainer or a casual shoe, you know what you are getting here and that is no bad thing. They look smart, they look stylish with a very classic design. That said, the aligator skin design around the heal gives that extra bit of flair to separate them from the crowd.
Comfort wise, this is FJ at their best. The uppers are high quality, soft leather with plenty of give whilst the padding under foot brings to mind the much used phrase 'they are like wearing slippers'. A trip out early this morning when the thick rough was still wet shows that they live up to their claims of being waterproof whilst the late morning sunshine has shown that they are breathable as well.
Performance wise, they are a very stable shoe and I always felt that they were gripping my feet. I was also please to see that FJ have moved away from the Softspike, which I never felt offered much grip and clog up too easily, and have gone with either a Champ Stinger or something very similar.
This is what I expect from a £100 pair of golf shoes. They feel a level above what I normally buy, they feel classy, they look classic and they make me feel good on the course. This is what FJ do best, they produce classic looking shoes with quality materials that are so very comfortable straight out of the box.
