Carrying on from a recent thread.
I purchased a pair of dry joys with the pods this morning and played a round in them.
I have to say that they were so comfortable. they replaced another pair of dryjoys (different colour) and they didn't feel like a pair of new shoes (in a good way) :D

Agreed. Replaced 5 yr old FJs with a new pair of Dryjoys in March and they felt comfortable from the first time I put them on. Great shoes.

They came with soft spikes (which I have never previosuly worn) and I have to say that I haven't noticed any difference between these and previous metal-spiked shoes.

Got a pair of the white dryjoys a few months back. I wore them straight out of the pro shop and onto the course. Normally I'd put some plasters on my heels as a precaution but as these were a bit of a sponataneous purchase there was no pre-preparation and so I was a tad concerned that blisters may bring the days golf to a premature halt.

I have to say that after the first hole I forgot that I was wearing newbies apart from the dazzling glare you only get with those fresh out of the box shoes. It was pretty distracting looking down on pristine new callway on lush grass and being blinded by the dazzle of these gleaming white FJ's

I have to say they were a pleasure to wear and my feet showed no signs of damage. Even better was I felt refreshed and up for a few more holes whereby my feet are normally quite tired.

Another product that comes with the HomerJSimpson thumbs up seal of approval

I dont have any FJ's however my Ecco's Casual GTX were the same, comfy straight out the box.

Like slippers, but waterproof. :D

I am still stuck between the FJ's and these Ecco's, I bought a normal pair of shoe/trainer from Ecco and they are no comfy its unreal. I have since found out that it was not my Stuburts leaking by my feet  - The wife does not know this so new shoes here we come ;)

I was brought back from the dark side and got ReelFits. There super.

They are a good shoe aren't they.

I've got long but narrow feet and the reelfit fits my whole foot, whereas some only fit over the laces (and even then are often too tight) and leave big gaps around the ankle.

I also like the way with the little button on the back you can so easily adjust the fit.

I bought them on the spur of the moment as I didn't think my black FJ's went with my shorts :D Anyway that's my reason and i'm sticking to it.

Gleaming white yes although a few trips to the water hazards should rectify that.

The only downside was that i had to re-tie laces about 5 times. What is it about new laces????

I still fancy some Ecco but pro doesn't stock them.

Never fails to amaze me how good Footjoys actually are. You could put a post on this site asking for recommendations in any other area of golf equipment and get a different recommendation from everyone but ask about shoes and it is almost a uneversal recommendation for Footjoys.

i think durability depends on well you look after the shoes, same with everything really, after nearly every round i will take the shoes out of the bag clean the spikes and uppers and air them out well, play five times a week usually, and after six months are in relatively good nick, they do have creases from walking but i can live with that.

FJ's - love 'em, 36 holes no problem.

Adidas - got a pair in a sale, lightweight, ok for 18 holes in the dry, were good in Spain, not tried them in the wet

Nike - hate 'em, they use really skinny lasts, no good even inside the shop!

Got to agree with mick - you only get out what you put in. If you look after them properly and clean and air them regularly there is no reason why the won't last for many seasons. I have pair of Dryjoys that are coming up to 10 years old and still nice and pretty waterproof but are just beginning to go where the leather is getting thin.

I think the best foot forward (terrible pun but its late) is to invest in 2 pairs particularly if you play a lot. That way if one pair gets soaked they can be given the time to dry out naturally whilst the other pair keep you going.

Not sure where sammebee get his "I would compare them to M&S street shoes.....nice, cheap but you buy alot of them" but at £50 for the cheapest and £100 for dryjoys not what I'd consider cheap

I use dubbin on my black dryjoys and they are still a joy to wear and dry. Change spikes about every two months, one new pair of laces in twelve months.
