2 hour fitting session booked for Thursday

I've been assessing the usage the current set-up gets in preparation and given the amount of full shots the 3 iron gets used for I'm thinking of going 4 - PW and sticking a 21 deg Fli-Hi or hybrid in the bag.

The idea being this will give me the option to drop one of the fairway woods and stick the 60 deg back in the bag when the conditions suit.

Roll on Thursday! :D

Why limit yourself to Mizuno when there are fantastic offerings from Nike, Ping, Cleveland, Srixon, Titleist, Callaway etc!

Cant see the point in going for a fitting if your going to discount so many brands unless of course you've already done some brand testing and research.

I totally agree. Personally if I was going to get new irons and get fitted I'd go to World of Golf in New Malden and try as many as i could and get a top three and my specs. At least that way you can be sure you have THE best irons for your game.

I deseprately wanted to get the I15's and kept hitting them and trying to convince myself they'd come good. Similarly with the Mizzy 53 and 63's. I hit the short/mid irons well but the longer rions didn't suit.

Of course it's horses for courses and if you've your heart set on Mizzy then fine. In which case though rather than sticking to the MP range don't discount the JPX 800 Pro's

I've had a look at other options, and tried a few, none have either felt or looked as good as the Mizzy's.

I love the look and the feel of the Mizzy irons, ok I accept that in reality I probably can't 'feel' that much difference and it's probably in my head - but then my head has to tell my hands to open the wallet! :D

I've not tried the JPX 800 Pro and not discounted them either, I will see what gives the best results, but they are not as pleasing to the eye as the MP range IMO.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised the 800 Pro's and personally I'd rather a slightly fatter topline and something I can use well and consistantly over a better looking club that gives me more erratic results. I'd take substance over style everytime

So how come you play with these Homer? That looks like a pretty thin topline :D

I think he is saying he'd rather have something that he can hit well regardless of looks (topline), rather than something that looks pretty, but doesn't produce.

phil, I've seen you hit so I reckon there will be something in the MP range for you.
I tried MP52's at the weekend - best Mizzies I've hit - at least for me.
I was quite disappointed with 800's - a bit lifeless I thought especially with the KBS - and I do like a thinner top line.

Steve, thanks for that, strangely I don't like to look down and see a 'shovel like club' behind the ball, just makes me think I am going to take the worlds biggest divot! lol

Will see how it goes, it's going to be an interesting couple of hours thats for sure and I am keen to get the top end of the bag sorted and fill in any gaps.

Having a knock with HRC99 in the morning round his track so the old body should be nice and loose ready for the afternoon fitting. :)
