Had my first full round of 18 holes today. Played my clubs main course. have to say a big thank to Jon321, a fellow forum member on here, for his company and advice this morning. Look forward to playing again soon. It took me 153 shots to get round not the best but its a start and I can improve from there. If I could cut out the poor shots and fats and thins I would have shot better. Have got a better idea where I need to focus my practice, also know I need to get out and play more rounds. Know I have to stay out of bunkers and learn to get out of them better, that was an area that cost me dearly.

Don't worry about the score-I know a few folk that have played a while and post similar numbers. Hope you enjoyed it and that the weather was a bit better there than it has been here today!

Enjoyed it too mate. Conditions were tough, strongest wind I have played in for some time. Although that helped on some holes ;). Like we said, its a starting point and something to try and beat each time from now on. You hit some good shots in there and remember you had a par too so that's good going for your first 18.

Thank you Jon, yes have to agree the wind was strong. Yes I did get a par and it is a good point to start and aim to beat. Was very impressed with your drives especially the long one you hit.

Well done, but you realise that now you're in for a lifetime of golf addicition?

Getting a par on your first round is good play and I'm sure the scores will soon start to tumble.

I am addicted already. I have been playing since Feb 2012 but I only ever played the 6 or 9 hole course at my club. This was the first time on the main course. I have to say I do now realise why people love the game so much. Even though I took a lot of shots to get round things like the par I made, and some of the good shots make me want to get out and play it again. The 6 and 9 hole course are fun, but the main course is now where I want to play most of the time
