First Round of 2012

Gonna go and get 9 holes in at my new club tomorrow, hopefull the start of 2012 will be as good as the last 2 rounds of 2011...

Two 4 ball rounds with the pro and a couple of other mates, better ball score of 64 was only good enough for a half on the first round. Then partnered the pro and watched him shoot a 64 with his own ball with 2 bogies thrown in.....pleasure to watch.

Went to bed about half past midnight with good intentions of getting to the club this morning and having a roll up game. Sadly heavy duvet syndrome caught up with me and it was 10.30 time I woke up. Hit the range for a bit of fresh air and ball striking was plesantly good and promises much for the new year. The first round of 2012 will be on Saturday in the roll up and a monthly stableford on Sunday

Was 3 over handicap with 4 to play and got one back on 15 th then birdied 17 and stiffed my third to 4 feet for birdie on 18 for 36 points.

We had a three clubs and putter fun competition, managed 34 points and won a nice bottle of champagne.

2nd outing in 2 days. Played 11 holes this afternoon, 5 under handicap...... hit 6 pars out there, let myself down with 3 double bogies .... Still happy to be playing though

Played a quick nine holes this afternoon and finished 2 over, 38, with a birdie on the last! Great to get out.

I went for a quick nine holes and shot 29 round the front at my new club...........

........or that's what I think I would have scored if I'd carried on. Hit a lovely drive off the first but then it started raining with some sleet.....so the southern softie kicked in and I raced back to the car - if anyone has picked up a Titleist 4 from the middle of the 1st fairway @ Marlborough, it's mine!!

Yet to miss a fairway in 2012!!!!

Played today in pretty decent conditions, a bit nippy and got caught in a sleet shower but ok apart from that.

32 points, 19 front 9 then only 13 coming back in.

Pretty happy with most my game apart from my chipping which was shocking!

Played New year's day and scored 35 points with a blob (32 putts). Then played yesterday (2nd) in a club friendly comp (32 teams of 4, best 3 scores off full handicap, although only off the yellow tees). Despite having to take three off the tee on the third, was 4 over gross after nine holes. Went to pot on 14, 15 and 16 to come in with gross 82 (par 70) for 38 points. 32 putts again (10 pars). No three putts yet this year!!!!
I'm sure I'll be brought back to reality in the monthly stableford on Sunday

mine was new years day, tee'd off bang on 9 and was back in the club house at 12.45, nice dry round with some good golf, shot 31 points off a roll up hc of 9, would have been 34 off my hc, so not all bad. just as the clubs got put in the car it bucketed down for about 4 hours... result!

Got my first round in yesterday, didn't set the world alight but felt happier with my game than recent rounds! Driver still going well, chipping and putting good. Irons below average and pitching awful! Still plenty of work to do this winter!
