Hi All

I have been playing golf for around a year now and am hooked. So was looking at getting a membership to a local 9 hole course (Rivenhall Oaks Golf Course). Only problem is my brother in law who got me into golf can’t afford the membership. So was wondering how easy is it to meet new people playing golf and what is the ruling on playing on your own?

It shouldn't be too hard. A lot of clubs run roll ups (sometimes called greedies or swindles) and usually encourage newbies to join in. Its a few quid in the kitty, balls in a hat for partners and winner takes the cash. If your club has drawn competitions as well you'll get to meet new players if you enter the comps as you won't get drawn with the same partners everytime
