Ive booked a set of 6 lessons and have my first one tonight.

Never had a golf lesson before.

Had played alot as a junior getting down to 12 and picked it up again after 10 years out this summer and currently off 19. I feel i have the basics okay but still have a fear that he'll change something major thatll result in a few weeks (or longer) of pain (to the detrement of my winter league team)!!

Any experiances of starting lessons after years of an established swing??

Also, lesson is in one of those swing room thinger majingers. Im left handed, should i call to tell him that. Wondering if setup of computer needs changing for me??

I had a series if lessons whilst playing off 13 couple years back after playing for many years without regular lessons worked a treat got down to 7.8 but was few weeks where I was more like 48 h/c stick with it and plenty of practice between lessons.
Good luck.

had my first lesson and hes changed my posture majorly, my takeaway (i was bringing the club round low and behind me) and had me try to focus on keeping the head still as im currently dipping pretty low and forward.

went to the range this afternoon and stunk the place up. quite alot of shanks and really struggling to keep the head still. I know its going to take time to get used to and im willing to work at it.

Problem is whether to work at it tomorrow in the winter league. Worried about letting the team down. We only play the winter league over the front 9 so tempted to use old swing on it and the improvments on the back 9 when theres no pressure. Any thoughts??

Go with an open mind to your lesson and take everything taught on board then get to the range as quickly as you can afterwards to practice what you've been taught so it's fresh in the mind but dont expect immediate miracles, your first range session after a lesson can be carnage.

If you haven't had time to make the adjustments then go with the old swing. Nothing worse than trying to find something that works when you're out on the course. Play your normal game and use the range to make the changes
