It's definitely improved a lot over the past few years. It went through a rough patch before being taken over but they've done a brilliant job with the course conditions and clubhouse.

It looks like they've cut down a lot of the trees and bushes in the ravines on the 11th and 15th to make it easier, which is a bit annoying. I enjoyed the challenge.

I hope swinger's club is named after the golf and not the social activities outside of it ?

I've been following them on social media and it looks as though they've done a great job getting it ready for the reopening, I'm really looking forward to it!

We're called the Swingers Club because our primary interest is post golf when we meet in the car park and discuss our love of Jazz, maybe even swap a few records etc. Nothing sinister in that ?.

A few nice drives, a few nice iron strikes, hole a few putts.
Sunny evening in which to play, and not too cold.

I managed a single round of golf last year and I haven't swung a club since July. If I break 100 I'll be happy.

I managed to get a tee time at Heaton Park on Tuesday afternoon with a mate. My main aim is to not hold everybody up as it's fully booked around us.

I'll also be glad if I can manage the full 18. Heaton Park, although short, is very hilly and the climb to the green on some of the holes is a killer.

Great course though.

A mate of mine played it when the 17th was the finishing hole. As he left though the hut at the top the shop (was it a shop?) said "See you again" my mate quick as a flash said " You f'in won't" and has never been back. LOL !

Will be happy just to be playing ... especially so as the friend I’m playing with has had two spells in hospital with pericarditis during lockdown, but is now fit again.

Ha yeah, I've got a few golf mates who never want to play there due to the hills. It's definitely a marmite course.

I think it works great as a municipal as people see it as something different to the usual courses around. There's not many I know that would sign up to be a member there though as it's tough going playing there 2/3 times a week.

Haha exactly the reaction my boss had when I took him.

Favourite memory of the course is lining up to take my second shot on the 15th and hearing a rattling behind me. I turned around and my boss' trolley had done a runner and was rolling down the hill across the fairway towards the lake. Thankfully the bushes stopped them going in.

I've always really enjoyed it, some brilliant holes.

Due to play on 1st so there’s a few days of range time before hand plus an old closed course near me has been frequented a few times recently

First round is on Wednesday morning but hoping to get either a few holes or a session on the practice field on Monday or Tuesday. After lockdown 1.0 I struck the ball remarkably well but I sometimes find that a break can do you good. But lockdown 3.0 has been double the length of lockdown 1.0...

But seriously I'll just be happy playing golf, in the open air with 3 friends I haven't seen for months.

Happy with 74 or under! But it's a free hit isn't it. I can't wait to get back out there and enjoy the game, company and nice weather.

Round two I'll be seething at 3 putts and dropped shots again though :sneaky::ROFLMAO:
