First Comp this Saturday

Forecast for Saturday and Sunday in this area is sunny and 15 degrees. Time to dig out the polo's and sun cream , and discard the thermals.:whoo:

just hope you can enjoy the forecast spring weather, and least it should give a bit more light trying to get around in a comp @ 15.00 is going to be tight in daylight.

Best of luck mate, don't be bottling it on the 1st tee will you ;)
Don't think our comps start until April, can't wait but I know I'll be $hitting myself before as I've never played in one.

Well mother nature and darkness beat us, me and Kraxx, barely made the 17th, we played our shots, which was hit and hope and we had no idea where the balls we landing, but we hit straight shots just short of the green, 18th was unplayable as it was to dark to see the green, so we didn't enter our cards.

Positives out of the round though, were my driving is a shed load better, lofted up my 913D2 to 11 degrees ad I'm getting a much better launch and more distance, also putting was a lot better, so plenty positives to take from today.

On call with work next week so no range work, of time at the course, so practice will be limited to putting drills in the house and some fitness work. Pushing a cart with hedgehog wheels is bloody hard work up hill into a head wind :)

Not surprised that you didn't get round with a 15.00 tee time and the club shouldn't have let you enter or take your money from you. You did quite well getting the the 17th.

I agree. Poor form by the club and a great effort to get so far. Take the positives of a decent showing, be patient with lack of practice and look forward to entering and completing a full competition round.

The other positive of the day was that I played the round in short sleeves, it was beautiful out there today, even as the sun disappeared over the horizon as we walked up the 16th it was still pleasantly warm.

Didn't enter your cards.....!!
Why not......??

You entered the comp
You return the card regardless of how many holes you play

At my club, anybody entering a comp and then not returning the card, would get "flagged up"
The guilty player would be named at bottom of results sheet and given. 0.1 lift anyway
This stops players just putting in "good" cards
This happens at other clubs too

If you enter
You put your card in
Wether you play 1 hole or 18
Wether you shoot 65 or 95

I appreciate it was dark
I appreciate you couldn't see the balls fly / land
But nobody made you play
Nobody made you enter the comp

Cards should ALWAYS be returned

It was my first comp at the club, lesson learned, cheers for the advice.

Still confident that you will get to single figures

Yes I am.

Only played on the course 4 time this year and that includes Wike last weekend. It was good to get out and just play, on-call this week so no golf or range work, but with the weather picking up I'll be out trying to get the odd 9 holes in, keep the range work up, and continue to have lessons.
