What a great feeling, feels like a monkey off my back!
Was a lovely morning so thought i'd head over to course and have a hack around on my own, was glad I did, no distractions or trying to impress anyone
We shall see if it's the start of scores tumbling, or a false dawn over the rest of the weekend, playing a mate on sunday and really looking forward to it now :D

Many congratulations, how far under were you??

Thats great news, enjoy the feeling!!

If you treat each shot as its own moment in time you will soon break 90. I think breaking 100 for me was about paying a little more attention to each shot. I remember it like it was yesterday and it must have been 7 years ago, it was nearly dark by the time we got to the last green and me and my buddy hugged like a couple of girls.

The more you concentrate the less shots you will take and the less times you will have to concentrate.

Congrats

Thanks, that's good advice as I have a tendency to rush everything.

I was looking at breaking 90 for the first time in ages today, far too many 92's 91's. So I shot 40 on the front 9 giving me a realistic chance, 50 on the back, got stuck behind the Stevie Wonder golf tour or something on the back 9, lost rhythm, patience but still not a bad 90. Just slightly annoyed.

Unlucky bud, hope it wasn't me you were stuck behind!

Ha no probably not, they were attempting to break 200 I think!

I hijacked the thread but forgot to say well done, how rude of me.....

Well done and keep at it! I'm back out for the 4th day in a row tomorrow to fail again, then Sunday, then Monday, then....

Well played fella!!!! It's a great feeling breaking your first milestone. Rushing was a bug problem for me, and to a certain extent still is. Just think that the guy behind you will be more grateful if you take 20seconds longer but hit it where you want to ;)

well done mate, i've just started and 100 looks a long way off.
hearing things like this just makes me more determined . keep it up:thup:

True! I think the best shot I hit today was the one I pondered the most. Was on the right side in the first cut of rough, trees obscuring my view to the green which was around 180-190 yds away. After debating whether to just lay up (risk factor being hitting the tree) or go for the green, I chose the brave option, whipped out the 5 wood, and counted to 5, stood over the ball, and hit the best shot I could have hoped for, fed off a bank into the green and was 15 feet from the pin. Two putted for a par!

I've been playing for around 6 months and had all sorts of scores, 125 first time out, only just started to play regularly though and seeing lots of improvement, so you will get there!

Great stuff. Try and think in that way for every shot (I know it's tough!) and you'll be well on your way :)

Well done - I still have the scorecard for my first sub 100 round of golf. Never looked back from there and hardly ever shot more than 95 from then onwards. Seemed a nemesis that was finally no longer out there bugging me and I really started to score well from then on
