last one was around july last year, done sod all range time since apart from the odd smack a few with the driver before a forum meet & a few holes at my club ;)

So I am going totally open minded and let him do what he may with my *cough* swing *cough*

My new regime starts now!

yup, I did last year but not enough and then after a few weeks went back to my old pants swing. I do feel I am a better player now but hopefully a few lessons and more frequent practice can help me sort out the issues that will get this noose of a h/c from around my neck :)

Practice is more fun when you have a focus and plan so the lesson should hopefully provide both of those. It can be hard if it's a step back in order to move forwards but will be worth it in the long run.

do any of you guys take notes after you lesson? i think this would be a great tool. my mates had lessons last winter but none of them took notes. you can see the bad habbits returning now without the lessons and i think this would be a good way to remember what is said in the lessons. even just key words to spark a certian swing thought or idea. give it a go!

I keep detailed notes after each lesson and referring back to those has been a great help as old bad habits rear their heads again!

I do, I have a booklet the pro gave me and we sat down after for 5 mins and wrote a summary and drills to practice, trouble is I wrote them so bloody obscurely I can barely remember what the hell they mean now.

At the end of a lesson I always ask for a drill to practice the main points of a lesson. Then work on that for 4-6 weeks and come back for another lesson.

If you can devote more than ~200 balls a week then you could maybe do a lesson more frequently but you should make sure you don't go back to have a lesson to fix the faults caused by working on the improvements from a previous lesson. More than likely they are not faults but just your body getting used to the changes.

If you go back to the pro too soon he might just try and change more, adding to the issue and causing much confusion!

yup, my aim is 100 balls a week so 50 balls per range visit.1 evening to the club for short game and putting aswell.

Also start the patches tomorrow and doing some exercises at home. Got to be done as I have become a lazy b'stardo and not 21 anymore :)

glad to hear you keep notes. you cant pass an a-level without revision notes and as we all know golf is more complicated than rocket science!
