Films

I watched Hyena Road (Prime) . A movie I enjoyed. Based around the Canadian Army in Afghanistan.
Somewhat different war movie as a lot of it is about relationships with non Taliban Afghans.

Please can you (and others) tell us what 'channel' programs are on, particularly if it is being mentioned for the first time.

Also which film it is - there are a couple called Joy. I assume from the post it's the 2024 film about IVF which is on Netflix.

Civil War (Prime) Great film

Not really what it is about if you watch the trailer. It's about some journalists trying to travel to Washington to interview the President in America which is in a state of civil war. Some very moving thought provoking scenes.
Watched it last night and really enjoyed it.
I was a bit frustrated about a lack of back story but I realised it’s not a film about the whys, it’s more about the brutality of war (just set in a familiar place.)

Would recommend.

Watched One Life last night, Anthony Hopkins as an English stockbroker who went to Czechoslovakia just before the war broke out to arrange evacuation of refugee children.

A true story with one particular scene, when he appeared on Esther Rantzen's That's Life tv programme, that brought tears to my eyes. Very moving.

Amazing guy who was eventually knighted and lived to 106.
