Fedex Cup

But the thing is, the players have bought into it. They were all sceptical at first but they now all love it. Also, it gets all the top players in the world playing 3 weeks on the spin which means crowds are up, advertising is up and money to the PGA goes up. As a marketing stunt it's genius and if like me, you don't care about how much they win but just want to see the best players play week in week out it's just brilliant. Without it, there's no way we'd have seen Rory win back to back as we did.

I look at it the same way as I do football, it's completely detached from reality on the money front but if the sponsors want to put the money up to attract the best players in the world to entertain us fans that's up to them and I'm not going to argue.

Yeah I can agree with that. I guess I am just taking a bit of a misguided shot at the sort of "fan" that is being attracted more and more to golf in the States by this sort of system. I guess we have to share the world with people we don't like everyday, but on some level I prefer golf when it is a bit more "boring" and therefore doesn't attract the lowest common denominator types to the game (light the candle, get in the hole type muppets).

They do it to keep people in the chase
to keep it going until the very end
Is it fair no, but its more entertaining because the top players keep playing
