Hi all,

Played at the weekend and when hitting my irons noticed they were drifting to the right. Wen to the range Monday and the same happened. Went today and it's still happening.
I thought I might be leaving the clubface open but when I try to square it up the shots fly left.

I posted a video on here a few weeks back and someone (bobmac?) told me to strengthen my grip so the crease on my right hand points
towards my right ear and it would stop this. Nothing seems to be working. I only want to hit it straight(ish).

Oh and I can't get a lesson til the 11th so I need a quicker fix.

Please help

I always find playing with whatever on the day the best way, some days a.slight fade others a draw. No need to look for the straight shot all the time

If the shot is starting straight and drifting right the club face is probably square at impact. Make sure your alignment is correct and try and hit more from the inside keeping your arms connected using the towel drill from a more draw biased flight.

I started off doing a similar thing this season and after working on it for a bit and trying to find out what I was doing, I realised that I was coming on an out to in swing path. Try to feel like you are swinging round your body rather than casting the club out and away from your body when you start your backswing. I have now developed a little baby draw and it is really working well for me. Just make sure you don't over do it and start hooking the ball!

Hi Richy,
Im assuming your grip is ok.....
If it is and your aligned parallel to your target stick a glove under your right armpit if your right handed.....Or vice versa if your a leftie......
Try keeping it there right the way through your swing arc.....It may stop you coming out to in as you say.....It'll feel very awkward at first but persevere with it....

Thanks for the replies, I think it must be the out to in thing as I had a couple of clubs laid down to check my alignment.

I'll try the glove thing kid cheers. What's the towel drill, same as just with a towel?

Yeah, you hold a towel under the armpits, it keeps the arms connected and stops you throwing the club away from the body. Also if you start pushing the shots try narrowing your stance slightly play the ball a little more forward and make a full turn of the body through the ball so that your chest is facing the target.

Hope that helps

Where do your divots point to? That'll normally tell you which swing path you're on.

Also, I was blocking shots right because my right arm was too stiff. This may be another cause.
