Just really wondered what people used for vision correction when playing?

Do most people use glasses or contacts, or nothing?

If nothing, is this because you have perfect vision, or just choose not to use correction for any reason?

How do you find you get on with your chosen method?

I wear glasses which is fine except in the rain when I need to wear a cap to keep them dry. Would use contacts but can be expensive. I always have a few pairs of disposable ones around and use them when I want to wear proper sunglasses (not often as my usual glasses are polarising)

I have soft daily contacts which I only use for golf... i strugle with depth perception due to an eye condition I have.

Box of 30 last ages so not too expensive. The weird thing is I have better than 20/20 just cant judge distances for s**t without them.

I've worn contacts for years and really like them (currently using 2 weeklies). Wouldn't go back to glasses for golf. I like the fact there's no frame, no reflections, no lenses to keep clean, and the vision just seems more "real" (hard to describe).

Nowt.

I watch the ball for about 20 yards then head off in that general direction to find it.

Glasses were terrible, at address the bottom of the rim lines up exactly where the ball is and heaven help if it rains.

No matter what contacts i tried they were always uncomfortably dry towards the end of the round.

My own fault, should have listened to what my Mum said when she caught me that day :D

I wear varifocals. Struggled a bit at first with the change from ordinary lenses but soon got used to them. Can't play in sunglasses though, even the prescription ones I have. Things just don't look right.

I Wear glasses, don't like contacts. Tried them twice and it took the Optician 45 mins to put them in for me and the same to get them out. Took some home but only managed to get one in.

This.

Wear glasses or sunny's with prescription lenses in for the 3 days in summer that it's actually sunny.

I always wear a cap for golf too, so it doesn't matter if it rains.

Currently in the process of upgrading my glasses too. Tesco have a terrible selection, but a very cheap and I get clubcard points :D

contact lenses for me, it just doesn't feel right in my gigs.
Splashed out on some expensive oakey sunglasses, but can't get on with them so spend a lot of time squinting when its sunny.

I wore contact lenses for about 28 years and realised that my eyes were getting even worse (I have had bad eyesight for over 45 years) I had gas permable one's that needed cleaning every day. So I saw my optician in about February and he diagnose cateracts in both eyes.

Had the first operation on my left eye in June and the second in July and i can not believe the difference. The fact that I could see my ball for more than 100 yards was incredible. Have found it a bit difficult recently with the grey clouds but I can put up with that.

Contact lenses for me too. I live in Wales so we tend to have a little bit of rain here and it's a pain when wearing glasses.
I remember when I started wearing lenses it took about half an hour to get them in. Takes no more than about a minute now.

Had corrective laser surgery 7 years ago.
Had a massive impact on my game especially in bad weather. Although I'm still rubbish at seeing where my own shots go.

smack the driver and walk 240 yards straight down the middle. 9 times out of 10 its there waiting for me. :D

You must be the worst putter in the world to waste those 19 shots during a round then!!! :D

I wear varifocals, which can be a problem especially as they tend to force you to tuck your chin when hitting the ball.

I can't wear contacts, even the optician couldn't get them in.
I have got a pair of single vision polaroids which work well - so long as it doesn't get too dark.

my last pair had blue tinted lenses, which help a white ball stand out.

if it rains, they get wet, whether I wear a cap or not.

I'm another who has a real problem with contacts and so doesn't wear them. I don't worry too much except for when it rains in humid conditions and the glasses start to mist up under the hat. Take the hat off to let more air circulate and the lenses get too wet. Leave the hat on and you're playing in a pea souper!

I wear glasses which are normally OK apart from when it rains and then they are a pain in the arse.
Went to the opticians last year and he "fitted" me for contacts, giving me a pkt or two to try them out.
It was bad enough trying to put them in and take them out again with him helping me, I had one try at trying to pop them in and gave up.
They are still sitting upstars unopened!

I wear glasses. I can just about put up with contacts for 5 hours (my eyes are too dry for them, apparently) but my depth of vision is not the same. Walking into a "protected" green (with ropes, to stop trolleys) I tried to step over the rope and just went base over apex....much to the entertainment of my group.

Glasses are fine, but they do steam up....

Maybe it's when my game is on a hot streak? :D
