EXTREMELY slow golf is good for your game

PLayed in a competition yesterday

2 1/4 hours for 6 holes !

Shot 7 stabledord points and came 3rd

Was hitting the ball really well

I'm sure you meant to put more than 7 points but regardless, slow play is never good for your golf, not mine anyway.

The other week the fourball I was in included a golfer who had just returned to the course after a major operation. The round took 4hrs 30, so was a little on the slow side, although in our defence we never lost a hole to the group in front. The pace certainly helped my game, I finished top of the leaderboard.

Friday with Region3, in a twoball, we followed a fourball so had to wait at a few tees, but nothing too much to moan about. Again the pace suited my game as I returned 40 points.

American stableford scoring playing as an 8ball? not sure why only 6 holes.

I'll have you know we always play the full 18 if we're holding the course up. With the obligatory trip to the toilet after 9....
