Hi all,

After picking the brains of the fitness blokes/ladies on the forum.

I am after some form of fitness to do at home , I have done Insanity and T25. I don't want anything that needs equipment. (So things like P90X are out of the question) Would prefer not to run to far and don't have a bike so cycling is out of the question.

Just had a quick look at Tabata (seems to be a bit like Insanity), so was wondering what other things are out there or what would you suggest ? If I went down the Tabata route what exercises would you be putting in a circuit ?

Cheers for your help

I have a workout a mate sent me a some time ago, lots of crunches, press up etc all of which can be done in the living room. It also goes further by including jogging etc if you ever want to take it that far. I'll dig it out and forward it on to you, I really enjoyed doing it at the time.

Would you consider investing in some kettlebells? 1 single, decent weight kettlebell can get you a serious full body workout, and also encourages the development of functional strength.

The only issue I would have with these is that I would need to see the proper way to use them i.e decent form. What sort of weight would be decent , I appreciate we are all different? Also what sort of price would I be looking at ?

Cheers again

I found a workout video to follow which is awesome, and helped with getting the correct form. I don't like using weights too heavy, so generally stick with my 12kg bell, but have 2 10kg's for the dual bell exercises. Places like Sports Direct normally have them pretty cheap, but I got mine from eBay, and they weren't too expensive at all. Such a great exercise, combines cardio with an all-round muscle workout. You can do some awesome stuff with kettlebells.

Got links to any decent workouts you use?

I use a kettlebell dvd that I downloaded. I'll check what it's called when I get home and post the info up here. It's really good, the 2 ab workouts are awesome.

Loads of various exercises that can be done at home and don't need expensive gear. Crunches, sit ups, press ups, burpees, plank, side plank, russian twists, step ups (use the stairs), lunges, leg raises, then there are loads of different variations of each. Get yourself a couple of dumbells or kettlebells and make the workouts a little bit more intense. Then maybe a light jog around the block for 5 minutes. Simples.

I'm two weeks into P90X and kind of enjoying it although swap the Yoga and Cardio for an Insanity session as don't really like them.

It's not a lot of equipment and in fact there is always a guy/gal using a resistance band rather than dumbbells and pull up bar.

Insanity Max 30 sounds good fun if you like Shaun T.

Doctors now recommend sex as a good all-round exercise

I'm trying to get my Doc to write me a prescription.
