Yesterday I got to the 16th of our course, narrow tee shot that swings 90 degrees to the left.

I currently had only carded 2's and 3's (stapleford) then carded my one and only 1!

So annoyed! Thought I was going to go the whole round without dropping a shot.

I think you will find plenty have. It's not that uncommon to play without dropping shots to handicap. Scratch however is a different kettle of fish.

I thought I was on target for a "Faldo" 18 pars during a medal - a birdie @ 17 "blemished" that card for a 1 under 69.

I never make many birdes, but also don't make big numbers. The fact I don't give myself enough good birdie chances is probably the reason I don't feel I can get my h'cap much lower. :(

I have had a round without having to drop a ball.... does that count?

i managed a +1 gross few years back when playing lots (pre wife and child) and off 8 h/cap during a works comp off yellow tees.
It was a bit of a mixed bag though 1 eagle 2 birdies and 5 bogeys.
Still lost out on countback arrgh! :)

had a gross 69 around a par 72 course this year and a level par gross at a 70.

was 4 under gross in one of the club matchplay comps last year after 14 holes.
my opp could not get off the course quick enough though as he had already been beaten 9/8, so i'll never know with that one. no gimmies either all putts sank, thye bugger;)
