A nice close finish at the European Open.
Good to see Gary Orr getting some form back at last, but a poor day for Rory and Jon's man Jeev. Also Chris Wood doing himself no harm either with a solid top 10.
Good win for Cevear.

Re: European Open

Reminded me of Todd Hamilton winning The Open with the frog keeping that wood thing had out all the time....fair play to the way he played 18 though to win....

It's a shame though that it was a tournament that was there to be 'lost' and opposed to like last week at Wentworth when it was anyone's to 'win....

Another quite poor leaderboard though namewise....

Re: European Open

Gutted, I thought that my man would be there.

Shame as I had £5 on him to win at 50/1

These bookies dont have a clue how dangerous Jeev is.

I can get 200/1 for the open, e/w that is a sound bet.

Went down there today with the free tickets - great day out.

We followed Singh & Cevaer 7 through 14 and have to say that J-M was not playing with any of the confidence that Medwayjon has on his behalf. He was striking well from the tee, but - whilst I was watching - he was missing greens and then playing poor recoveries. Maybe it was an off day, but unless he sharpens up the short game, then MWJ would be better off keeping his money in his pocket. At last for now anyway.

Re: European Open

It was disappointing to see another poor final round from McIlroy. Is it just me or is he getting into a habit of going backwards on the final day??

Someone mentioned the tall poppy syndrome the other day. This must be the quickest I've ever seen it manifest itself.

:D

Re: European Open

My uncle-in-law is a good friend of Stephen Dodd, good to see him pick up a bit of form over the last couple of events. Apparently he's a nice bloke, and doesn'r care that much about trying to win, he's quite happy to retain his card and pick up the cheques for doing what he loves. And for £400,000 already this year, who can argue against that ???
