I haven't altered any of my settings, and according to my "user options" the photo's link is still shown in my siggy "set-up".

Smiffy was it a link to a web picture or did you upload the picture yourself? If it was a weblink and the picture is no longer on the web that would explain it. If not just remove it and reattach it.

T'interweb is a funny place and computers are temperamental so they often get confused. Variations on the turn it off, turn it back on method seem to work 9/10 times.
