B

First full season of Golf, and improved a HECK of a lot from last year, probably dropping 15 shots. Went sub 100 first time, and ended the season consistently sub 100, which was nice. Looking forward to playing more, enjoying it more, and carding some lower scores with the help of GAME Golf next year.

B

Handicap down from 15.4 to 11.9

3 board wins, also won the eclectic.

Best part of my game is my driving, I normally hit about 90-95% of fairways

Worst part, short game and putting, I take 4 shots from close to the green far too often, and get down in 2 far too infrequently.

C I would say

Started off in really crap form for the spring and most of the summer after a disastrous batch of lessons but found the old swing eventually. Did pretty ok in my H4H defence and played some great away courses in my semi retirement.

Changed almost all of my clubs for game improvers and my game improved. Scored my best score ever in a recent match along with a hole in one. Arranged a forum meet where we didn't all turn up at the wrong course on the wrong day! I paired with a mate and shot a great 4bbb score at the Grove to win a big comp and I got to play with some great guys off the forum and Liverpool Phil (sorry just copied Richart)

Focus next year on a real handicap reduction!

C
A steady rise in the handicap by missing the buffer by 1 many a time....
No wins, just a 2nd place but, and most importantly, I've beaten Fragger more times than he's beaten me over the year.
Actually played very steadily for the most part.
Highlights were H4H weekend and going to Wentworth for the Big Bertha fitting and filming
Lows were few but the front 9 at North Hants is right up there!

A big fat D I'd say

Started the year playing some real good golf, at home and away courses

But never really did much in qualifiers this season, same handicap, but think went up .6 ( ish )

Highlight of year....
Playing Silloth, 1st time
Won a team open
Won a greensomes Pairs with My Son

But unfortunately I've played most of the season with an injury, which I thought was just a little "niggle"........so ignored, and kept playing
Obviously aggravated it
Now at the stage where I'm unable to play and not hit a ball for 2 months.....!!

Aim for next year
Get my interest going again
Get over this injury, return playing, and stay injury free
Not too much to ask........I hope.....

A

For me handicap stayed the same but I was happy with that. Moved club at start of year and best thing I've done

Hit the ball well in places over the season

Really enjoyed my season this year with good banter and couple new courses

Going to have a few lessons over winter and hopefully get a good start to next season

C

Handicap up one full shot from 8.2 to 9.2.

0 x cuts, 2 x buffer, 8 x 0.1 (plus two 0.1s from supplementary cards).

If I had to answer this question a month ago I would have said D-. I had a run of 0.1s early on which I attributed to moving to a new club, but gradually started fighting my mind which resulted in an awful saw-off defensive swing where I was bailing out on impact more often than not and hitting pull-hooks or duck hooks. Cue the first lesson of my life a month or so ago which was by far the best £25 I have ever on anything (I wanted an hour but the pro could only fit me in for a half hour slot). Within 15 minutes he identified a few of things which had crept into my set-up and swing. After spending 4-5 hours at the range every weekend since I feel like I've come out the other side. I buffered on the weekend despite my worst putting performance in recent memory, which I'm partly blaming the thawing greens for as they were a mine field of foot prints and putting is generally a strong point and even a reasonable day with the putter would have got me a cut.

Tee to green I feel like I'm now there or thereabouts in terms of the level of I was at when I was off 7 or 8. I now need to spend winter reinforcing the progress and tidying up my chipping in order to keep my scores improving and hopefully get the handicap heading downwards again next year.

E I'd say.

Won the Captain's drive in, first comp of the (new) season. In July was sitting at 8.0 handicap. Currently at 9.5. Best round of the year was 38 points. Worst was 22!!!

Haven't played much recently after playing twice a week from March to October. Probably 3 times in the last 2 months. Only going up if I can choose who I can play with. Nothing against my normal hustle lot, I like them all.

Unbeaten in games for the club though, but am gonna knock them on the head.

Semi of one club KO, out in the first round of another.
Was 6inches from an albatross, for a knock in eagle. That was nice.

I say a B- for me

Last year my handicap went up in a steady stream of .1's hitting 19.7, then I was fortunate to do the New Golf Thinking course and almost immediately the rot stopped and i quickly had 4 buffers in comps which was unheard of in the previous year,

I continued to improve and had my first cut for 18 months down to 18.5. However I have recently hit a rich vein of form and reckon I should be at least 3 shots lower, but this has coincided with a reduction in comps because of winter, so im keeping fingers crossed for Wednesday when we have a competition (hope thats not the kiss of death)

In my society, I came 3rd in the eclectic and am currently 4th in the league, but its very tight, a good showing at Huntercombe tomorrow could be interesting.
Played lots of great courses not least on the Irish Craic Classic Tour . and of course the H4H day

Highlight would have to be 3 birdies at The Centurion Club with Rick, Murph and Capt Ron
and of course every time I beat Imurg (which I think is 6 out of the last 8 ) - Must keep a better count next year

so a good year, but can and should do better :)

C- / D for me. Played as well as ever off of the tee but didnt convert decent driving whilst my putting was the worst it has been for a good 5/6 years after year on year improvement in previous years. Need to play a bit more next year though.

A-

Third in Club Champs and sixth in Order of merit

Fourth in Fiddle Order of merit and good profit.

Won couple of pro shop comps but nothing else.

Into Cat 1 Mid Aug , selected for scratch foursomes and "over 55" scratch teams.

I'm going to give myself a B.

Joined a new club and have played more golf than previous years. Handicap reduced from 15.6 to 13.7, but should have been lower, having thrown away at least 3 medal rounds with one or two silly holes.

Won a board comp and lost in a playoff for another, and picked up 3 comp wins and a couple of seconds throughout the season.

Got picked to represent the club 4 times, losing once and winning four matches.

Broke 80 twice in three weeks last month, the best indicator that my game is moving in the right direction.

Most importantly, I've played loads of golf, met some great people at my new club, and re-discovered my love for the game.

C-

Played a few nice courses and managed to keep my handicap from going up, in fact dropped a shot on my playing.

But, consistency has been missing all season. Suffered from a terrible bout of shanking early in the year (which still hasn't been completely exorcised) and played like a complete knob at most of the GM meets I went to: Lindrick, Woodhall Spa, H4H and Brampton Heath.

A full year of highs for me

Reached cat 1

Played some fantastic courses

Three hole in ones

Couple of comp wins

Taking money of Pokerjoke - twice

Meeting some cracking people from here

All rounded off by a great trip to Kent

H4H weekend was fantastic from the sunday through to the Tuesday

Can't recall one low

A+ for me

I do believe your 2 wins over me were higher odds than 3 holes in one:ears:

C

Handicap has not come down as much as I'd have liked (only 1 shot) and a few too many good rounds have crashed and burned on the back 9. Despite this, I've thoroughly enjoyed my golf this year, playing the Whitby invitational with my old man and a weekend golfing trip away with 20+ guys from the club. Oh, and there have been one or two new putters...

B

Handicap down from 27.6 to 21.3 was 20.8 at best.
Changed swing and shot shape from fade to draw.
Won my Grandads memorial trophy at his old club.
Won a medal at my new club.
Won 2 society days in my Spanish golf society
Won annual league in Spanish golf society & weekend for two in Portugal.
Spanish society handicap down to 18.7.

B

Happy with my progress on the unofficial handicap - down from 26 to 19.

Played more rounds than ever - complimenting the change in handicap.

Enjoyed my golf a lot more this year.

Played a links course for the first time - I WILL BE BACK FOR MORE.

BRING ON 2015 :whoo:
