Hi I bought my wife tickets for a Elton John concert on the 3rd June in my home town. now I am not a fan but I could not just buy 1 ticket for her so I will be going with her. Has anyone ever watch him live and will I enjoy it. Most of her friends are going so giving them the ticket wasn't a option

It will be awesome. The man is a pure showman.

I've seen Elton John live many times now and I must say I've never been disappointed. I prefer his earlier stuff, but as said he is a showman and entertains. If you like him you will enjoy it. Incidentally, I have seen some fantastic support bands with him.

Weird this
I was out with the dog and was coming in to post re Elton John.

Our daughters bought us tickets for the Falkirk show.
We have never been to a stadium concert and wondered what the etiquette was.
Eg. Can you take in rucksacks/water etc
Any advice welcome!

Being married to his #1 fan means I've, over the years, seen him on many occassions... Not my type of music but I do try and have my positive head on... He, as has already been said, a great showman... So on the basis if she's happy I'm happy can't say I've been to a bad show of his...

When we go to 'stadium shows' we tend to take our water supplies in disposable bottles in a supermarket bag so we don't have to carry it home...

I've seen him a few times and, as was said earlier, I prefer the older stuff. I think that his piano playing is much underated and I think you'll just love the show

Recieved a email from event organiser saying do not bring food and drink of any sort as it will be taking from you by security

I've also been to a sizeable number of his concerts (about 20 or more), though not recently - last was just him and Ray Cooper (about 1994).

Normally absolutely fantastic and a great showman. However, 2 concerts were disappointingly flat - he was unhappy for some reason. Turned out that 1 was because his voice was giving out on him (aka concert in Australia) and the other because John Reid had been arrested for assault a day or so earlier!

Now looking like a short, fat, bald, old queen, but still a great entertainer.

No!!!

My Wife got me tickets to see him in Glasgow a few years ago. We made a weekend of it and stayed in the Glasgow Hilton. The weekend was going lovely until the Sunday when the concierge informed us that Elton had called off the evening show as he had a sore throat. Bless him.
We went on a tour of Hampden Park instead.

Seen hime twice. First time was nothing but hits and was supeb. Second time he did the whole of his latest album at the time and then only did a few of the favourites after. Even though no-one knew the songs off the album he was clearly losing the audience and was getting ratty. When he got to the oldies the place erupted. Definitely worth seeing but a bit of a lottery what set he does and what mood he's in
