Electric trolleys should be banned !!!!!

Definate trolling going on. Where's the OP since he stirred it up?

Anyway makes for a lively debate!

It's certainly going to make meets more interesting.

Meet at a golf club, though criteria is (depending on who's going;

Electric trolley - yes or no
Hybrids - yes or no
GPS - yes or no
Drivers with more than 11 degrees of loft - yes or no
Chippers - yes or no
60 degree plus lob wedges - yes or no
Trousers or shorts - yes or no
Any ball other than a Pro V1 - yes or no
Soft spikes or metal spikes - yes or no
Handicap over 10 - yes or no
Yadda - Yadda - Yadda!!!

Strewth. I'll have to fill up the car with every bit of kit I have, and make a judgement call on the day, just so that I don't offend anyone!

And I thought I was playing golf to have fun!!

We could have a match, those for CF and those against CF, could get ugly.

I want to be at a meet with Bobmac so I can have a few beers after and start slagging off Golf Pro's, think I may get a reaction.

Just joking Bobmac, I think you all do a grand job. I couldn't stand there with a straight face watching someone try to hit a golf ball with a swing as bad as mine. Its the same reason why I could never be a driving instructor, i'd get so frustrated.

Guys with ill fitting carry bags can be a source of slow play. I've had to step away from a shot on many occaisions whilst they clatter their merry way down the adjacent fairway.....is it so hard to put a hand over the clubheads to stop them clattering???

lol ill fitting carry bags, you offering to custom fit stand bags now???? Whatever next, ball custom fitting?

Iron chatter in most standbags is a problem. Though simply cured with a right arm/hand over the heads of the irons.

chink chink chink chink, down the fairways like some sort of low budget spaghetti western going on in the background... What next Sandwedges at 10 paces. :D

Think I'll wear my ten gallon hat next time I use the standbag :D

lol the good, bad and the boogy.

"Do you feel lucky....? Well do Ya...? Make my day GolfPUNK" :D

Think I'll put Knights of Cydonia in the CD player on my next visit to the golf course. Will be Essential essential pre round listening...rofl.

Think he's just trying to get some lively debate going...it has been a bit quiet on here for a while. :D

you're right there, I think the last six topics have been about slow play, it's here so get used to it

Hahaha get someone on a launch monitor!!!

What I meant was, you must have seen the guys with the straps too long, bag hanging down by the back of the knees, clattering away down the fairways. Must be a fashion thing along with jeans down around their arse!!

Perhaps we do need custom fitted clubs for throwing purposes, will the correct shaft flex aid the "helicopter" as it sails into the bushes??

Madandra.

Not so long ago you flamed me for a comment I made. You reminded me that it is everyone's perogative as to what they do.

Well for those that want to use an electric trolley. It's their perogative!

Chin up Madandra. A good day will surely come.

Chink, chink, chink, chink.... :D "You gotta ask yourself the question...'Do I feel lucky..?'.... Well do ya...?!" ;)

& best technique for throwing the bag in the lake.

I have noticed my Grom does chink a lot, but apart from holding them I like to stop and watch said golfer on the other fairway top or shank his shot with the added pressure ;)

Well, well. It's the Madandra and Cernunnos double act. Come a cropper there before!

And someone was complaining that it was just noobs that got it in the neck!

Popcorn at the ready!

Why are we here again. Oh yeah; golf.

As for people that wear black golf gloves, as someone here seemed to dislike those!

Now what were the forum guidelines again?? :D

I use an electric trolley and I am cat 1 (just) to answer Bobmacs question.

I dont feel ashamed at all! ;)

Knocking on a wee bit now, had back trouble last year, I like to carry water, food, spare jumper, spare towel etc and I am a human not a pack horse! I want to feel as fresh and fit as possible on the 18th and by not carrying it helps you stay looser in the shoulders and back as I let the trolley run in front of me and stretch a little as I walk (Pete Townsend style windmills etc ;)).

Time wise I would admit that trolleying (electric and pulled) is a little slower than carrying because you have to go round greens and cant get them into the rough easily.

However I got round in a 3 ball medal in 3h 15m on Sunday which was quick enough.

If you do the 36 hole opens they are a necessity, for 18 hole matches they're probably not but I'm not going back to carrying (except on holiday when I take the wee carry bag to save room in the car!)

Mine cost £125 from Germany via Ebay 4 years ago and its still going strong. It came with 2 batteries and I've replaced one for £40. You dont need to spend a fortune on these.

For those not electric trolleying out of some sense of machismo, get a grip. If you prefer carrying for a speed reason then fair enough.

What is the forums views on Plus Fours? The wife says she wont step foot in the clubhouse again if I wear them, she does like to tease me.

Im having a laugh here, is anyone else?

I think motor trollies should be banned whenever it has rained, thats all, they are very heavy, they generate their own traction and they damage the ground as much as 200% more than pull/push trollies.

Carry bags? Why carry when you dont have to? Also do some research with the medical profession regarding LONG TERM damage to the body by carrying a hefty weight all the time when its not necessary, look at the damage to the body the overweights often get. Now being ultra fit doesnt mean you will never get body damage, it just means you will get less over a longer period of time. A very very interesting program was on some time ago where they looked at the Mary rose crew remains and determined who worked as what simply by their bone/joints wear and tear. Im sure if they look at peoples bones in 400 yrs time they will know if you carried a golf bag for 30 or 40 yrs.....and so will you :D

I like black gloves. I got called Michael Jackson for wearing a single white one recently.... Just goes to show you

So I did a moonwalk down the fairway for my mates & a pirower whilst holding onto my golfing trilby... Wend down well with the lads. There again they'd all just had two pints of cider each at the halfway house... some people are easily amused.

I'm pro-black glove btw

EDIT: Never worn plus fours or two for that matter....

...But there's always a first time

Ive just given my opinion on trollies, now I read we are into plus 4s and gloves.........where is this thread going? :D

HNJ. Yep, actually I am.

As for last years Footjoy Dryjoys. Someone said they look like 'special' shoes. Ban them 'an all!

Saw someone at the golf club recently sruggling to get his golf clubs and trolley in the boot of his BMW X5. What, not got a big enough car!!?? He must of held up, what, I dunno, one person! Ban him!!

And so it gets silly!!
