Anyone on board know of clubs around the Beverley area that are taking members ?

May be moving up that way so looking for recommendations on places to join.

Ta

A friend of mine joined Cherry Burton recently and that is just outside Beverley. I think they are still taking new members.

hi stan, beverly has a club on the westwood ,but its on common land so you get cows and people having picnics on the fairway, cherry is a 9 holes course and not a great 1, ok if your just starting out, hainsworth park at leven is nice, plays well in a winter,
brough my home course, very nice course dropped the joining fee until further notice always in good condition,
hessle another good course with mental greens,
hornsea is very good but its over on the coast
if you need any info or fancy a game at brough just let us no,

Played in a society game at cave castle on saturday (35 points & nearest the pin on the 5th!!) which is at south cave. Was a nice course.

Would you have said it was a nice course if you'd scored 20 points?

I'm with FatTiger, Beverley is 'fun', but the cows are a bit of a pain. The greens are always awesome. Our place (Brough) is one of the best in the area, and the full course in in great nick, with a greenskeeper who know's his onions.

Hessle is great, long and tough, and as Chris says, the greens are like Augusta in Summer (and not in a good way). Hull GC is snotty and boring, and you also have Cottingham which is maturing really well, but gets overplayed.

Avoid Cherry Burton, South Cave and Skidby Lakes.

If you want to play any of them let me know.

or maybe i wouldnt!!!!!

Yes, Brough has already been mentioned by a mate who lives in Scunthorpe.
Anyone played Driffield ?

Will take you up on the offer if the job offer comes up !

I played Driffield on Monday for the first time, it's not a bad course, bit 'compact' between holes but good fun. Beverley would be a better choice for a similar price if that was a big factor.
