Dropped Ball

Of course take a provisional when in doubt, but if you and Neilds can't see the scenerio that sometimes happens then fair enough, you and him can walk all the way back to the tee if you want.
I know I play a lot of golf, but I reckon it happens to me about half a dozen times a year when I can't find what I thought was an alright drive, especially on blind drives or cutting off dog-legs

Yes “sometimes” -on a 1 in 100 maybe wider than that chance that it happens then it not something that’s happening regularly enough to have a rule put in place during comps

We have been using this rule E-5 in our society events for the last 4 years. I personally think that it should be brought into all forms of competitions.
The amount of time it potentially saves, especially nowadays when everyone moans about not being able to get round in sub 3 hours ;)

Imagine the scenario, 4-ball all hit their drives, and one of them can’t find his ball, all look for 3 minutes, now he must walk 200+ yards back to the tee, just as the behind 4-ball walk onto the tee. This causes an unnecessary bunching up of the course, when an already 2 shot penalty is punishing enough.

The sensible thing is for a player to take a provisional ball, however there are far too many optimists who play golf.
