I'm on the lookout for a Driver that will enable me to get the most out of our rock hard fairways. I also struggle with mine in the wind.
I'm after 7-8.5 degrees and Stiff or X-stiff shaft, so I can really rip it. Nothing too posh. Maximum of £75, ideally less.
Cheers.
Aaron.

Got a Ping G2 8.5* with adilla stiff shaft, served me well for the last couple of seasons but just fell in love with the 09 tm burner so it got shelved. Saft has a few marks but head is mint no marks at all. complete with head cover.

brendy, i thought the stiff would have been hard to hit, my driver before my g2 was a regualr calloway 416 great big bertha. i always found i had to be super slow with it as a regular, but once i got the g2 stiff i was really able to rip it.

Have a PING G5 9deg with a stiff adilla NV 65 shaft.

I have been thinking about a upgrade to a g15 for awhile now, this might be the call i have been looking for lol..

Its been well used tho no sky marks, has a few bag marks on it and i do have to confess i mark the top of it with my shoe once when standing waiting to tee off one day, my foot bushed the top of it.. you cant really see it but its there if your interested let me know and i can send some pics to you.. AS for a price i dont know what these are making so make me a offer and we can take it from there.

Dont get me wrong, Im all for ripping the big lad down the middle but I once had an ex Darren Clarke Cally BB Bertha (the one with the red tape on the shaft to signify the clubmaker) it was poker stiff and could hit it dead straight every time but I just could not make the ball go any further than 220. My normal stiff driver was averaging 270 maybe more at the time. Im saying, just be wary buying from t'internet as you cant take it back.

Thanks for the offers guys, I'm afraid im not keen on either of those Ping models. Good suggestions though.
As for the Cobra, sounds right up my street. I'll send a PM to enquire mate.

Im pretty sure i've got the swing for it, an easy swing is about 100+mph I've been driving really well lately but just feel im losing distance in the wind with a 10.5 degree and leaving myself too much to do.
I'll still be using my current driver 90% of the time as i've been hitting fairways with it, I'm just trying to add another weapon to my armoury.
Cheers guys.
Aaron.

Looks like you've started something here Aaron! I'm sort of thinking of getting a low-loft stiff driver and practising to see just how far I can hit a ball. (Sort of have a wish to enter some Long Drive competitions! Laughable, I know! ;) ) Some of the offers here look tempting...

Hi it would prob cost you £150 as the shaft cost me £100 a few months ago,it does not give a low ball flight though its similar to my R9

If you want to get a driver cheap i would find a head you like then a shaft, some decent shafts on ebay go for as little as £10 then either put it together yourself which is quite easy with some basic tools or get a pro to put it in for you.

As you know most exotic head/shaft combos come at a price the only one i can think that you could pick up cheap is something with a Graf blue or a v2 maybe in a 905s head

I don't think I can stretch to £150 for the Cobra, which is a shame. Great idea about getting head and shaft separately i've been searching ebay already.

Tim - It's not a crazy idea, you've got the swing for it.

Dave - I may give the MP 600 a go if you have it still when I next see you. Looks like you have some interest on here though, i'm not sure it will fit the bill, I want something that flies like your i15.

You'll need to get a swing that looks like an octopus fighting off a swarm of bees then :D

Have a bash with my MP 600 Aaron , now i've got my I15 it's just sitting in the garage gathering dust.

Ive been after a MP 600 for a while now - what spec is it jammy?

Its got the Fujikura stiff flex shaft in it. Comes with the fasttrack weight shift thingys in too.

What about the loft and condition? And if you are willing to part with it, what sort of very cheap price are you wanting for it? :D
