Driver shaft

Hi guys, I recently bought a "new" driver from everyone's favourite online auction site. It arrived this morning, in two peices!! Seller has said to keep it and will process a claim through PayPal. It's a 9.5 burner. Never gone about reshafting a club. I'm considering putting a smaller shaft in to improve accuracy. Pretty sure I know the answer but for price of mind. If its a new shaft then I won't need to counter balance it with weights will I? As shaft will be weighted accordingly, unlike cutting a standard driver down.

It is a Taylor made so look at the shaft weight carefully and measure the total length. But cutting an inch off will change a few swing weights but how bad that is depends on how sensitive you are.

The shaft is snapped. I'll be replacing the whole shaft.

Shortening is 6 SW points per inch.

Can be balanced by a heavier Grip (5grms - 1 SW) or Heavier Shaft (9gms - 1 SW)

All approx of course.

And in fact, you'll almost certainly not notice any difference!

I had a burner and my pro shortened it by an inch (we are still talking golf here). Noticed absolutely no difference in length or feel but became a whole lot more accurate.
