Driver is now officially.......History !!

Personally I think a wedge from the rough is an easier shot than a 7 iron from the fairway.

I agree to an extent, but when you're deep in the trees, with no shot anywhere close to the green, or worse, out of bounds and staring a Triple if you're lucky, its more complicated !!

Off 8, I just simply cannot afford the all too regular Double Bogey's........ tis whats holding my H/C back.

Would be a sad day not to hit driver, golf just isn't golf without hitting driver off the tee.

However I don't care about my handicap and scoring but if that is what works for you, go for it and hope it improves your scoring.

Yeah, I must admit, there's not many better feelings than hitting a sweet driver down the fairway. Even if it only happens rarely.

That raises an interesting Question doesnt it........

Those of us that olay purely to get our Handicap down and keep it down, and in all honesty, as far as I am concerned, I never enter a Medal/Stableford with the thought of 'Winning', as I know that if I play under my handicap, however small, I'll be up there on the kleaderboard anyway. There are only ever 3/4/5 people that beat CSS on my course on any day anyway.

Then there are those that, as you say, 'dont care about their Handicaps'.......and play with abandon perhaps every time they tee it up.

Which is best, I dont know, but personally, being as low as I can be, consistentntly, gives me more satisfaction than an occasional win.

Each to his own I guess..

I'm probably somewhere between the two. I want to enjoy my golf and have fun with it, but also if I don't see at least some improvement I will get disheartened. My handicap is high and unlikely to drop any time soon so I don't worry about that so much, but I still want to improve a bit, as I should do playing every week.
