Seriously odd day today, a completely random lie after smacking a tree, it dropped dead on the spot right in front on the same tree.....and then next hole, noticed my head was loose as hell on the practice swing, so spent a minute or so trying to push it in and tighten it with the adjustment tool, but it just came off....

Seems a tiny part of the shaft is still in the hosel.....so should I be able to get a store repair with current shaft quite easily if I take it to them? I'm gonna doubt American Golf won't replace it, just use the classic "your fault" stuff like all big companies who claim service is key do, despite the rest of my clubs looking faultless, but what can you do.

It's a Nike Machspeed Black, bought in April this year, though my pro thinks I should get a G15 to go with my 3 Wood, I enjoyed the Machspeed, so not sure if I'm gonna use this to change up or not yet. Played better than ever with the 3 wood in final post-driver break 7 holes though.

Against my will, I'll definitely try AG tomorrow, hate going into stores asking for exchanges on damaged goods as they always look down on you and play it off as your fault......but I can't fall back on home insurance here, so I'll try and repair at reasonable price if nothing else.

picture of it.

Be a shame if I have to buy a new Driver though, there goes my Galvin Green trouser waterproofs funds ><

If all else fails tell AG you'll stick it all over here. I had some issues with Golf Support and to be honest once I said I wasn't happy and would be on here they were as good as gold. To be honest they were getting jerked around by TM but it took a lot of pushing from Golf Support to give me an initial explanation. Tell AG it failed at the range or even taking out the bag and that it is clearly not fit for purpose

So a sport for gentleman and everyones advice is lie and deceive - good work fellas.

Just be honest with ag, it's covered under a years manufactures warranty from date of purchase, no need to lie cheat and deceive, your covered by eu trading laws

To be fair, I think they were only giving me that advice if AG themselves got fussy about it with me in the first place, which I still think is probably likely. But I have no really reason to lie, nor do I think they have any real reason to think it was anything but a faulty build/glue.....the head itself is nearly faultless, and the shaft goes in for a full inch.

Just ya know, some shops are fussy, and I've found myself treated like garbage too often, so just worry too much.

Ive had two issues with stuff from ag - neither their fault and both times they have gone above and behond to rectify issues. Also my local store knowing that I had won the driver fitting built 4/5 drivers to spec the day before the actual fitting so I could get a feel for what I liked and didn't .

Croydon (purley store ) were to be fair a shower of *****, but a new guy in there seems to go the extra mile, Croydon (adiscombe branch) always do more than required to assist me as per the driving fitting, and Sidcup branch took back worn shoes only 9 holes old because the crippled my feet.

Not all branches are bad, once they know your a genuine customer they can often exceed expectations

Good one Homer, good to see the Forum has it's uses  Afraid I don't agree with your threats and subsequent use of the Forum to badmouth a supplier like in that manner :(

During my youth I had a couple of summers where I tried golf with freinds and my cousin.

On one of these outings the clubhead flew off and landed in the middle of a pond.. there it was floating away! No idea what happend to it after that :o

Took it in today, no weird looks or anything to be fair, just took details and sending it to Nike.....but I think I'm gonna buy a Ping G15 to go with my 3 wood anyway and sell it when it's back....though I'm not sure what I'll get for a repaired club, I can only assume it's price is gonna plummet.

Although the receipt for the repair does say they can still charge if they think it wasn't a build error.

2 weeks without a driver though.......gonna be tough, maybe I'll just buy the G15 tonight, £130-10% at the range where I have my lessons, so dunno.

Had this been some random newbie, then yes i'd agree completely, but Homer is one of the die hard forummers,he contributes to many threads/topics,and usually does so fairly and honestly imo.
I'm not suggesting anybody should start abusing the forum for there own benefit, but having an opinion and/or naming and shaming is hardly libellous.

If he had threatened to go to the consumer council then fair enough, threatening to complain to a privately owned forum is a bit crap, come on now.

It isn't really having an opinion but rather posting a stinking review then telling the company that it is there to get wha you want. That's the way I read it anyway.

no manufacturer's repair will be discernable, and it's almost certain to be a new shaft and adapter and grip 'cos that's how they will do it.

if they come back on the basis of anything but a manufacturing fault it will be because they have absolute evidence to that effect - it's simply not worth them handling it any other way because the actual costs are embedded in the complaint handling rather than the components.
