Hi Folks,

Thought I would post re recent fitting, no real question to ask here other than to share experience with you all and interested to hear your thoughts.

Had really interesting driver fitting recently. I've posted on another thread my woes with my Yonex driver cracking across the face (LINK) and I have a TM R11s loan club from our pro to act as a benchmark.

Well, went through the usual process, hit TM SLDR in various settings / loft / shafts, couple of Callaways, i25, G25 and a few others that have slipped my mind.

Ended up with a short list of SLDR (stiff 14 deg:eek:), Ping G25 (with i25 stiff shaft) and the R11s I have as a loan club. Dispersion and distance on still day was best with 14 deg SLDR but I have a worry that with a bit of head-wind will launch too high and go nowhere. G25 with i25 shaft was an eye opener as didn't like stock shaft (is i25 stiff different to stock G25 stiff??)

All in all, a very useful first step. Will come back to the short listed clubs another time as after hitting 6 / 8 drives with each in rapid fire mode, I was starting to get a couple of tired swings towards the end of the session.

Get the same +AoA & Launch Angle with the 14º SLDR that gave you the good results, the wind will only effect it as it would effect all the other Drivers. The SLDR will still launch okay & give you good results into the wind. Wouldn't discount it for that reason, it will still be fine if you have the same impact conditions that you did when you tried it out.

Just down in the end to your personal choice, but no real reason to walk away from the Club & spec that gave you the best consistent numbers!
