Driver fitting

Hi

I am thinking about getting a driver fitting, I play in windy conditions, my teacher says a while ago that the tip in my current driver isn't stiff but the shaft is! So I really struggle to keep the ball low into the wind! Where would be the best place to go to get this checked out? I live in Sussex

I would recommend Precision Golf, near Egham, near the M25/M3. They specialise in shaft fitting for better players. They will probably tell you that the Matrix shaft in your TM is not a real one, and is a bit too soft.

It's better than an OK shaft, and the original proper Matrix shafts are very good indeed, but like any other, it is only worth having if it suits your swing.

I heard an unconfimed rumour that the guy down at Smiffy's old place ( Highwoods ) is meant to be half decent. But I'm sure Smiffy will have a more informed opinion

Ping have got a couple of guys using their rig at Haywards Heath and Horsham. I'm sure they could help. I've only used the range at Horsham ( The course is pants ) but they seem to have a decent range of manufacturers on show

Dunno if anyone has actually used their fitting side, but they talk a good game.
