Dream Golf Experiences: What’s on Your Bucket List?

As it just so happens I’m in the hills outside Perth right now on holiday. That place does look tempting to sneak off for half a day! Any other suggestions? The Vines is nearby but, bar the kangaroos on course, looks less exciting.
The Vines used to have a Pro tournament, have played there a lot, always thought it was over rated.

If you can arrange a game at Lake Karrinyup, Mount Lawley or Cottesloe you will be happy with those.

Do drop into a few wineries up there, but make sure some else is the skipper (non drinking driver)

3 and a bit years til my 50th and we’re either planning doing Hilton Head Island and playing all courses, inc Harbor Town or the alternative my FiL knows guys that are members at Winged Foot and Shinnecock Hills that would host us, but it would just be he two rounds so not quite decided which we want to do.
Just been chatting with the familia about this and we’ve decided that for my 50th we’ll do Hilton Head Island. Harbor Town, Wexford, Sea Pines and Shipyard look likely candidates.

Next year we’re going to do the “whole family holiday” to New York and do Shinnecock and Winged Foot while we’re there.

Main rationale is MiL wants to see NY but doesn’t think she will be up for it (health wise) in 3 and a bit years.

Must be difficult being so poor. 🤣

I need Troon to complete all the Open Rota. That'll be this summer or next.

Heading to Machrie/Mac and Mac Dunes etc in August.

I think Lofoten needs a visit. 😁
Fortunate enough to have played Lofoten, 3 times 🤗. Still my favourite course ever.

I’ve been very lucky in the past to tick off a lot of my bucket list. Lofoten tops them all - Dornoch, Brora, Kingsbarns, Turnberry, Fuji San, Ils Aux Cerfs, all the Surrey heathland and St Andrews courses, and everywhere else I’ve been fortunate enough to play.

My bucket list is much smaller these days but pretty unachievable unless I win the lottery now.

Tara Iti
Te Arai
Cape Kidnappers
Barnbougle Dunes
Bandon Dunes
Pinehurst
Mölle

Mate wants me to put a package together to go to Ireland.

I took 3 friends back in 2011-12, we played Lahinch, Ballybunion (old), Dingle, Dooks,
ring of Kerry and Adare Manor, cannot remember the exact cost but I got very good deal.
Golf accommodation and Breakfast.

Just priced it, and it is now A$7,541, plus add on airfares hiring a vehicle etc.

Unless one of us wins the lottery, it will stay a dream.

Just lucky to do it when we did, it was my 5th trip to Ireland over the years, love the Country.

if money were no object and I could get a tee time

Augusta National
Gymkhana Golf Club in mauritius, but mainly because I would be in Mauritius
Black Mountain Golf Club Thailand. Stayed in Hua Him years ago near it, and it looks incredible.

The last one is more than possible and think I may go for it

Can recommend Black Mountain, I go every year with a group for the last 12 years......
I have played over 200 courses in the UK Ireland Spain France, not counting OZ.....
You will not be disappointed, plus there are several great courses in Hua Hin.
