Sunningdale Old is somewhere I'd never tire of. Love the place and lucky enough to have played it a few times now
I think Rick Shiels said it was one of his favourite courses he's played, so maybe that's why.I think it’d be Kingsbarns but not really sure why
Haven’t been there, don’t know the layout or standout holes, its just the course name that comes into my head anytime my wife asks me where do I want to play most
Depends on your budget but they normally have a decent stay and play there around oct/nov time. I’m heading up there this year but so far my favourite course I’ve played to far is trump Aberdeen. We all have that one course we’ve always wanted to play. Personally, I’ve always dreamed of teeing off at Turnberry. Has anyone here had the chance to play there? Any tips or stories to share?
Joined The Devil’s Back when they were doing Turnberry to give myself a shot and hoping it comes round again although to be fair any of those venues are dream boat.
Or MelbourneI don’t think I’d want to play my dream course in November, unless it was in somewhere like California.
Crans is £163 high seasonI'm lucky enough to have played Turnberry, before the prices went silly. Fabulous place to play, every aspect of it. Clubhouse, pro shop, staff, the course, all top notch and geared to helping you enjoy your time there. There is no advice in terms of the course, it's all there in front of you to see, no tricksy holes to catch you out. The one thing I would suggest, on the 9th hole, lighthouse, go and find the pro's tee. Quite an eye opener.
Courses I'd love to play, Sunningdale in the UK, Crans sur Sierre in Switzerland. Both look gorgeous. One day I'll price them up![]()
That's very manageable, not overly scary. Surprisingly. (All relative of course)Crans is £163 high season
This. With knobs on.I think Lofoten needs a visit.![]()
Plus a lot of other top courses nearby, hope you finally get to come out here and visit your brother at Chequer's, and like you said the exchange rate is great for you at the moment. It is unlikely that any place would inspire me enough to part with hundreds of £££s for one round of golf.
Possibly Old Course St A, when I have a can't-take-it-with-you brainwave.
Something that could be a real possibility would be a round here. Not this year or next, but sometime in the next 10-12 years hopefully.
At the moment you can get on for 55 Australian dollars on a weekday. That is just over £26 at the moment as the Ozzie dollar has slumped a bit.

3 and a bit years til my 50th and we’re either planning doing Hilton Head Island and playing all courses, inc Harbor Town or the alternative my FiL knows guys that are members at Winged Foot and Shinnecock Hills that would host us, but it would just be he two rounds so not quite decided which we want to do.
NY every time. There are loads of great public courses in the area (Bethpage etc) that you could add to your trip.3 and a bit years til my 50th and we’re either planning doing Hilton Head Island and playing all courses, inc Harbor Town or the alternative my FiL knows guys that are members at Winged Foot and Shinnecock Hills that would host us, but it would just be he two rounds so not quite decided which we want to do.
