Get someone to check your grip.
Also, make sure you are 'finishing' the swing. 'Holding off' just a little tends to open the face slightly, which could be enough to make face-angle match path.
If the ball is starting in the same direction as before and just not drawing back, it's most likely the club face isn't closed (enough) relative to the path.
There's several ways to manipulate your the clubface, you'll have to find out which one works best for you:
- strengthen grip
- more underarm rotation
- wrist at the top of the back swing (think Dustin Johnson..)
There's no right or wrong, it's all about what works for you.
