DQ offence?

What I meant was if the player can enter a comp but cant win it due to an inactive h/cap, does it matter whether its a board comp or not? Unless of course as I said, the comp was full and he was stopping someone else from playing who has an acrtive h/cap

Sorry I misunderstood you query.

We permit them to win such events but not board ones. Unlike other clubs (from what I read on here!) there aren't significant prizes involved and we could have a long debate on the true status of an 'inactive handicap' and it's relevance to a competitive environment - but not in this thread!

I note you later posts on the subject here and appreciate that view; we just have 'inclusion' a little higher on our lists than most clubs (juniors are eligible in most comps and ladies play their comps concurrently in the same field so that in a normal monthly medal you could have dad, mum, kids and uncle bob with his inactive handicap...... - but not necessarily all playing together).

Not a lot of point sending a question to the R&A given that the rules are very explicit  They will just refer you to 6-6a/6.

Thank you. Due to many years of half decent education, albeit in the distant past, resulting in a working level of literacy, I knew that.

The point is to attach the R&A answer citing 6-6a/6 to the specific query for ease of understanding on the part of the captain, seeing as how he is clearly a bit of a moron.

then why not suggest printing it out rather than totally wasting the R&As time?
